1. in order for you to state i would say that telling someone they can't yell fire in a crowded theater is chilling speech, is for that speech to be protected. you thought it was protected, if you didn't, you wouldn't have made such an embarrassing post....you got called on by two other posters....nice try onceler

Well, if you want to continue w/ the bad analogy, I'll have at it. This is the issue w/ some of you fools - you confuse motivation w/ justification. No one is saying that idiots who rampage after the qaran is burned are justified - but there is no question what motivates them.

Similarly, the abortion doc's actions clearly motivate the abortion clinic bomber, or the guy who murders a doctor. And, similarly, while they are motivating, it is not justification.

Clearly, the biggest difference here is that the doctor & clinic workers know & understand the risk of their actions; it isn't a huge risk, but it is one that THEY choose to undertake.

Obviously, in the case of the pastor, he is putting OTHER lives at risk - which happen to be lives that General Petreus is responsible for.

Get it?

I'm pretty sure you don't, but there it is ....

no one is confusing motivation with justification except you. you and others have flat out said that the pastor is partly responsible....any way you cut it, you're partly blaming him and that is disgusting.

they are also putting their lives at risk, there is a 2 million dollar fatwa on the guy's head. you're close with the abortion reasoning, but not quite right. there are others that have been killed or harmed that do not chose to perform the abortions. it is not true that the loons have only killed those who wish to engage in abortions. further, those soldiers and petraeus willingly joined the military and put themselves in harms way to DEFEND our freedoms and way of life. they chose that risk and even knowing the risk, continue to serve in afghanistan and elsewhere. so, they are just like the doctors. we have a 100% volunteer military.

if any of our troops don't want to serve where they will be in harms way because some wacko muslims might harm them, they can come home. but they don't, because they believe in defending our freedoms.

Wrong Yurt. Patreaus is NOT making any sort of threat. None. Do you even understand the term threat. Telling people, 'if you do A, B will likely be a result' is NOT a threat. Saying 'I am going to beat the ever living shit out of you'... that is a threat.
