Petraeus Says Quran Burning Endangers War Effort .

You can vote for someone and not support all their actions.

absolutely true. but war mongering is a huge liberal gripe. it is why bush is so hated by the left. yet, when their liberal president implements gwb's unilateral policy, only some whine, but, they will vote for him again. launching a war or attacks is no small matter. imo, its not like you disagree with obama's view on some mundane subject, this is a huge deal and christie was very vocal in her criticism of bush, but, voting for obama on such an imporant issue....seems hackish to me.

my two cents....

As usual you disregard the six hour time difference and expect everyone to jump at the snap of your fingers.

hey dumbass.....he could have replied and groaned at the same time. he does this all time. he groans posts, and then doesn't reply.

do wake up to reality christie and stop apologizing for all your lefty buddies.....

It's so funny how it isn't "enough" for you that libs merely oppose Libya. They have to go so far beyond that; meanwhile, Bushies not only supported Iraq, but called anyone who opposed a traitor.

I think the integrity gets to you; it exposes your own blind hackishness....

the above is a perfect example of why i ignore more and more of your posts. purely absurd and has no rational basis in reality. its your whiny talking points that you use over and over. no actual debate, just whiny talking points.

when you want to debate with substance, let me know.

I think he was giving a hypothetical like should we act like these Muslims did if someone were to burn the flag?

Ten years ago a state legislator said that would be okay, so it's not outside the realm of possibility.

A Republican Missouri state legislator has decided to fix that by introducing a bill to legalize the use of force against someone who burns a flag.

"You should be able to take hold of the flag and take it off the ground and rescue it," states Rep. Sam Gaskill of Washburn, a former Vietnam fighter pilot, told the Associated Press. "If the guy doesn't want to let go of it or he swings back, then the person ought to fight back.

Asked by a reporter whether his bill would allow someone to take aggressive action against a flag-burner, he responded, "I'm sure they could."

Under Gaskill's proposal, the use of force would be allowed if "the person reasonably believes" such force is necessary to prevent "the defilement or dishonorable desecration" of the U.S. flag. A person using such force against another could not be charged with theft or assault, although the bill stops short of allowing deadly force."

Is there any post where you don't demand to have the last word?

Well doofus, if Obama continues along his path of being bush lite, I won't vote for him in 2012. That doesn't mean I'd vote for the repub candidate, though. If worst came to worst, I'd pass over that part of the ballot.

Same boat. Hacks like Yurt try to project their own blindness to party onto others. I have tried to explain that anti-war people, in general, are anti-war - no matter who is in office...

We might as well save our breath. It's always black v. white with them.

Can't help feeling a little sorry for old Tel -boy really. Good idea that went wrong.
Original idea: We burn a Koran, they burn ten bibles. We burn 100 Korans, they burn 1000 bibles. Extrapolation would show that it would be just a few months till both books had been burned out of existence. Not a bad thing at all for mankind.
But it went wrong.
Oh well, try again next year.

huh? you are definitely a nutcase. i want to impose US cultural standards and actions on the rest of the world????? what in my post gave you that notion? and what makes you think i hate the troops?

you're one of the wimpy libs that bends over for a few radical muslims who kill each other.

No, I'm the one who sees the difference between a few radical Muslim terrorists and the rest who are just trying to earn a living like the rest of us. I'm not the one who characterizes every heinous act in the world by the religion of the perp.

petraeus is ready to give up our freedom of speech because of a few nutso muslims who kill each and might turn on american troops....i'm amazed he believes its just about burning their book...we don't need a military leader telling us what to do with our speech. i expect him to fight for that freedom, not to chill that freedom.

I checked out the link and clicked on the slide show. I have a question. Considering their country is dry and dusty and we frequently see them playing with fire and the resulting smoke how do they keep their whites so white? :dunno:

Let's not forget we have no idea what Bush, or rather, McCain would have been doing now. Would the US be in Egypt? In Iran? Bush certainly had harsh words for Iran.

Furthermore, the US is pulling back from Syria. When did Bush ever pull back? He had permanent bases built!

Those who choose to spend a great deal for their adult life devoid of freedom are the last I would choose to listen to about freedom

I suppose he is a supreme test of the old saying "I defend their right to say it even though I detest everything they stand for", but I will point out that he should know that he will no doubt be subject to a fatwa as a result. He was asked before to desist, but these Southern preachers are not much better than the Islamic fundamentalists they decry. I would also say that the media should take some of the blame for giving an obscure southern nut job the oxygen of publicity, without it he would have remained unknown to all but a few.

I seem to recall that burning the US flag was an offence for a very long time and may still be in certain states, indeed maybe burning the Bible is as well? I can't really see why this pastor can't be prosecuted for inciting racial tension.
