Oh by the way USL, you should see the pasting that Republicans are taking in the polls here in the midwest due to their over reaching on collective bargaining rights. Sherrod Brown was 20 pts down to an unknown opponent 3 months ago. Now he's 20 points up. If John Kasich were to run today, he couldn't get elected. He has a 30% approval rating. Even a lot of conservatives have turned against him. He's only been Governor for 3 months and he's all ready being considered a lame duck and the big Irony is that because Ohio SB#5 still haven't made it through the house that if it's recalled for a vote by public referendum then it won't be able to go into law until after that referendum. Because they inserted a lot of riders in the bill they missed dead line so it won't go up for referendum in Nov of 2011 but in Nov of 2012 which will have a much larger turn out, obviously that's in favor of those who oppose SB#5 and they only need to 250,000 signatures to put it up for referendum and that means even after Kasich signs it, it can't go into law until after the referendem and only then if the people vote to support it.

So far polls are showing that 2/3 of the people in Ohio oppose SB#5.

So the union machine is working overtime.

What these conservative governors need to do is the same thing that Scott Walker did in Wisconsin, and all at once. That will cause the unions to spend all their money astroturfing, it would run them thin, and they won't have anything left for the next election.

In other words the population was narrowed down to likely voters taken from poll records, or something. So it doesn't speak for the nation at large, just the nation's likely voters that he polled.

It's always kind of funny revisiting these posts a few days later. He had dropped to 43% for one day, which usually means a statistical anomoly. He's already back to 46%, and will probably stay around there or maybe a tick or 2 higher - as it's been for over a year.
