Started out, it sounded like Obama was just going to hurl Mubarak under the bus, and side with the protesters... I guess, on liberal principle? Anyway, after the smart people pulled him aside and informed him of the situation, they seem to have morphed their policy in the past few days. Now, the idea of having the Muslim Brotherhood assume power in Egypt, doesn't seem to be a very good one. And yesterday, just out of the blue... the Obama administration basically invoked the Bush Doctrine of spreading democracy in the middle east... did no one catch that? Pretty swift move there, wasn't it?
I think this is a prime example of why we don't need emotive, knee-jerk, reactionary liberals in power. You can't LEAD by running around making platitudinous statements, changing your position with the winds of public opinion every day, based on the polling. That's just not leadership.
