Obama's Five-Year Plan: Build Stuff and Invent Stuff

President Barack Obama claimed the role of champion of U.S. businesses on Jan. 21, vowing to slip the economy into "overdrive" and enlisting corporate America in his crusade to create jobs.

"The past two years were about pulling our economy back from the brink," Obama said after touring a GE plant in upstate New York, which manufactures hardware for solar, steam and wind power energy industries. "The next two years, our job now, is putting our economy into overdrive," Obama said, in a thematic shift for his presidency ahead of next week's State of the Union address.

"For America to compete around the world, we need to export more goods around the world," he said, in a city where Thomas Edison, the inventor of the light bulb, founded the precursor to GE.

"We're going back to Thomas Edison's principles. We're going to build stuff and invent stuff," Obama said, arguing that specific administration policies had helped to spur small businesses and job growth.



And they say Obama has a way with words, "build stuff and invent stuff" :palm:

Too bad they have banned the light bulb Thomas Edison had invented; we are forced to use compact fluorescent bulbs, which are more expensive and which contain toxic mercury.

Why is The Obama now turning to capitalism? What happened to the '"only government" can fix these problems' stance that he took two years ago?

I know there is nothing I have ever posted or said or felt that indicts me for being racist- You on the other hand throw the term racist and racial slurs around regularly. You have called for the murder of a US president; believe in smacking a woman around to shut her up among other things, that show your hate and misogenyst tendencies.

Indeed you love to ignore posts that discuss Obama's policies and are quick, instead, to call the person disagreeing with said policies a racist because Obama is black. That makes you the one focused on race and unable to discuss the issue of said policy...why? I saw my brother throw away one of these mercury bulbs the other day. It's going right where the rest of the trash goes.

It's strange how the Marxist politicians didn't see this coming.

Or maybe they don't really care.

I guess Marxists don't care what they're drinking, and giving their kids.
