I didn't "only" say that now, did I? Really dig in to that post and you'll notice that I actually pointed out things in the post that had nothing to do with you.

Thanks Rana, your point was clear but again it was off target. Let's really dig in to what I am saying.

Continuing the same incorrect theme isn't "leadership" it is following. Leadership would have brought us to a whole new direction. Instead we just got more of the same just stated with more flowery speech. He jumped in front of a parade that had already turned off of Main Street and was on its way out of town.

The speech was well-received by right and left. Only hacks are nitpicking it to this extent. It's one of the reasons I don't see things changing anytime soon.

I will say right now: the rhetoric, in my view, had NOTHING to do with this tragedy. This guy was clearly a nutter, and wired for an action like this.

That said, if there is one positive thing to come out of this, it's that people are taking a look at how out of hand things have gotten in this country, and how polarized we really have become. If this had nothing to do w/ the event, it certainly played a part in the aftermath.

To ignore that wouldn't be "leadership," imo. You take that moment, and see if you can work something more positive out for the future.

except to you its not positive when i post violent rhetoric from the left.

if you want true change, all rhetoric needs to tone down...you can't just choose to be passionate about rhetoric that comes from your political opponents. you need to be able to say how wrong the left was this past weekend for blaming or trying to blame the right within minutes.

Idiot - how many times do I have to say on this board that the reaction against Palin was completely unwarranted & over-the-top? Did Obama single out rightie rhetoric, because that's what we were talking about before you came in here w/ the usual "where are lefties...huh? Huh?" routine.

and not at all surprising, you refuse to condemn the hysteria by the left last weekend in trying to or actually blaming right wing rhetoric for the shootings...
