Obama says polarized nation needs healing

Again, what's not truthful about it? :)

If you want to argue the comment, I don't think it conveyed a truthful sentiment, and I don't think it was intended to. "Palling around with terrorists" certainly creates a different image in the head of the average listener than, say, "was acquainted with an individual who used to commit terrorist acts."

The first implies that he's hanging around with active terrorists, and not just one, but a group; it's meant to convey that he's really one of them.

I'm not going to get into a big back & forth with you on this. The idea that she's incredibly divisive isn't some fringe libbie belief.

Again you mis-characterize the true nature of Ayers as well as The Obama's true relationship. No surprise there.

do you have the text? where did he blame the right? there is no escaping that political discord became an issue because of this tragedy. should he just have ignored that?
This tragedy had nothing to do with political discord and everything to do with a nutjob. The only "discord" was in the immediate knee-jerk blaming caused by the overzealous willing to take advantage of a "crisis" and ensure it didn't "go to waste". Continuing to say, "we can fix this by there being less discord" is detracting from the real issue.

The truth is Obama knows Ayers but he doesn't "pal around" with him. The right wing was spinning their casual acquaintanceship like they were having weekly sleepovers.
Starting his political career in the man's living room is a bit more than a casual acquaintance.

Yup. If you step back from the emotion of the speech, you really get fluff and continued blaming of "discord", which essentially translates to people who disagree with Obama.

Anyone hear about this?

Obama speech undercuts federal charge for judge's murder

Judge Roll was recommended for the federal bench by John McCain 20 years ago, appointed by President George H.W. Bush, and rose to become Arizona's chief federal judge," Obama told the crowd at the University of Arizona. Roll's "colleagues described him as the hardest-working judge within the Ninth Circuit. He was on his way back from attending mass, as he did every day, when he decided to stop by and say, 'Hi,' to his representative."

In the complaint supporting Loughner's arrest, federal prosecutors argue that Roll wasn't simply seeking to pay a social call on Rep. Gabrielle Giffords (D-Ariz.) when he showed up at the community outreach event where the shooting spree took place Saturday. Prosecutors and the FBI insist that Roll "was engaged in official duties" because he wanted to talk to Giffords and her staffers about problems with a surging caseload in federal courts in Arizona, particularly along the Mexican border.
Loughner's alleged killing of Roll may only be a crime under federal law if Roll was on business and not merely stopping by to say hi to a friend. The death penalty is likely available to the feds anyway, because of the death of Giffords's aide Gabriel Zimmerman. However, multiple murders are an additional aggravating factor that could lead to the death penalty under federal law, as is the killing of a federal judge when carrying out his official duties.

When my parents would break up our kid fights, they used to makes us kids stand together in a corner and hug each other for 5 minutes. LOL

America's right and left need to hug each other

Perhaps Obama could offer everyone take a $5.00 deduction on their income tax and have a beer. Wouldn't that be a great gesture?
