Obama says polarized nation needs healing

Yup. If you step back from the emotion of the speech, you really get fluff and continued blaming of "discord", which essentially translates to people who disagree with Obama.

Obama is damned if he does, damned if he doesn't with all of you...I don't think he could do anything right.

Yeah what about the t-shirts? Were they provided for by some person or person's associated with this WH? Or by the University?

Yurt must be referring to these tee shirts:

I'm only interested in one kind of healing

According to Fitzenberger, the shirts were designed by a University of Arizona student, and they cost about $60,000. “The University will pay for them,” she noted. “No tuition, state allocations, tax dollars or student fees will be used.”

i just read that the university supposedly handed out t-shirts to everyone with "Together We Thrive." on them....

seems like a continuation of the whole its the politics that caused this....i thought obama handed it out, at least that is what i heard, but appears it was the university

In my opinion it was the University that gave the Memorial a "pep rally" feel and not the dignitaries who attended and spoke. Perhaps the students that spoke, who like their contemporaries approached the tragedy as young people and not as a more aged crowd, who would have responded in a more somber manner added to that atmosphere...just saying.

I dislike much of Obama's policies-and I do think he has been guilty of demagoguing situations before-I just didn't get the impression that this was one of them. I do think he could have said less, but he has never been one for less when more is available.

Whew...Obama dodged the bullet of Yurt's "gotcha" wrath. That was a close one...

I had to go look and see what they were talking about concerning t-shirts!

Looks like another case of jumping to conclusions and believing, of all people, Michele Malkin!

Bad choice of the University to pick blue and white, it made people think that it was a Democrat thing.

They were trying to do a good thing and once again, someone had to make it ugly.

Weren't you the one complaining that Boener went to a fundraiser instead? That politicking was bad but this politicking is good, right?

1) I personally agree 100% with the president.
2) Its not inconsistant with anything Ive said here.

He could have said more about being able to disagree with one another while still loving one another and pointing out how 100% of American leadership condems this attack.
