first it was the government doesn't own gm...then it was they don't run gm, despite obama saying they will exercise their rights regarding fundamental decisions as the majority shareholder....and he hasn't yet said that is no longer true

They own SHARES of GM. As they promised at the beginning of this, they are pulling out, and the bailout was a temporary measure to get GM back on it's feet.
It wasn't the "incremental creep" toward full ownership & socialism that you & Dixie were fervently warning everyone about a year ago. Like I said - you were wrong. Are you able to admit that?

You capped the wrong word. You should have capped WAS, not owned.
The gov't doesn't have a 60% share anymore; as we told you, the bailout was a temporary measure, intended to preserve one of our few real manufacturing bases. It worked, and now - as we told you - the gov't is pulling out, and GM is doing well on its own.
Sorry that the whole thing worked. Like I told Yurt, it must be incredibly disappointing for you guys to see all of those jobs saved....

Let me explain it MM....If you own 33% share of something, thats what you own....33%....if thats more shares than anyone else, it makes you a person that can't be ignored, but not quite enough to give the orders...
If you'd have owned 66%, you are in fact the man that controls the company, you have in fact the power to give orders....if doesn't make you the sole owner and no one claimed anything like that about GM and the government....and even it they did, for all "practical" purposes it is true.
Just as the word "owned" is used on the internet....get it snipe?...
