Is Beck a psychologist? Is he taking more into account, or is he cherrypicking phrases that HE thinks are "revealing?"
I'm not a Soros fan at all, but I have seen Beck do this with a variety of people on the left that he doesn't like. He'll take quotes from them, or their friends, or merely people that spent time with whoever is target is, and isolate them and try to draw much more sweeping conclusions from them that they deserve.
I'm not a psychologist, either, but there are plenty of ways to look at the Soros comment about the Nazi occupation. To me, he's certainly not making a judgment about Nazism, or saying that Nazism was "fun." He was talking about his perspective as a kid during a war.
Beck is a total character assassin; it's pretty much what he does...
Beck has numerous issues with Soros-and he is not alone in that. Beck takes apart a prominent persons associations and background-looks at their ideology and political involvement. Beck's only fault is he is on the right side of the aisle in his research and analyisis instead of the left.
Soros own words as an adult make it clear that in the very least he has a callous and seeming detatched emotional response to what happened. His own father described his sons involvemnet with jewish internment as something George enjoyed. Beck is examining the "man" George Soros. Discussing his attitude as an adult about what happened as a child is relevent.
