Woman executed in Virginia even though she didn't do the killing

The crime in the UK would most likely be conspiracy to murder which is not the same as murder itself. Then again we haven't had the death penalty for 45 years.

Conspiracy to murder is punishable in the UK with a life sentence if the person is successful and is usually about 16 years if not successful from what I just googled...so it would appear that even in the UK conspiracy to commit murder is taken very seriously.

The death penalty is a debatable issue. I would support the death penalty if there was a more streamlined less prone to corruption justice system. The requirement for incontrovertible evidence and or eye-witness testimony in capital murder should always be required...the truth is that very rarely is a capital murder case won on purely circumstantial evidence...that's a good thing.

I do not see the death penalty as barbaric. The premeditated taking of a life is barbaric and demands justice to be served in any civil society. Though I concur that if justice is a mere obstacle for the wealthy and a hammer for the poor then it's not justice at all. I say this because I do not think it is the innocent man that finds himself on death row as often as the poor one...

Because I support taking the lives of other human beings in cold blood for no other reason than the sadistic pleasure I get from their death?
