I am genuinely interested in peoples options on this matter. I understand why people would be upset but does this really warrant his "retiring" or is it overreaction? I won't argue with you I just want to see what people think.
I guess I'll put the grim reaper down as being in favor of this guy "retiring". BTW I love the fingers and the thumbs down. They make me laughI am genuinely interested in peoples options on this matter. I understand why people would be upset but does this really warrant his "retiring" or is it overreaction? Given the circumstances, I wouldn't have asked for his early retirementI am genuinely interested in peoples options on this matter. I understand why people would be upset but does this really warrant his "retiring" or is it overreaction? I won't argue with you I just want to see what people think.
Well it isn't a good look for the company.I am genuinely interested in peoples options on this matter. I understand why people would be upset but does this really warrant his "retiring" or is it overreaction? I won't argue with you I just want to see what people think.
What do you think would have to be different for you to ask for his early retirement?Given the circumstances, I wouldn't have asked for his early retirement
Fair enough but did it warrant his "retirement"?Well it isn't a good look for the company.
I don't know but if he didn't, people would demand it, which is understandable. You just don't leave anyone out, especially in a tragedy.Fair enough but did it warrant his "retirement"?
It's understandable they would demand it but do you think they are entitled to it?I don't know but if he didn't, people would demand it, which is understandable. You just don't leave anyone out, especially in a tragedy.
Well they can always take their business elsewhere. It's understandable they would demand it but do you think they are entitled to it?
I get it and that's the risk but my question was, do you think they are entitled to what they demanded?Well they can always take their business elsewhere.
Why wouldn't they be?I get it and that's the risk but my question was, do you think they are entitled to what they demanded?
Because I don't believe that just by virtue of the fact people want something that they're entitled to it, especially if it affects someone else. They were offended, hurt, upset or whatever other adjective you want to use, ok so what? They didn't suffer any injury and they lost nothing but he loses his job. That seems unreasonable to me.Why wouldn't they be?
Well would you pay a rich person to overlook people like you?Because I don't believe that just by virtue of the fact people want something that they're entitled to it, especially if it affects someone else. They were offended, hurt, upset or whatever other adjective you want to use, ok so what? They didn't suffer any injury and they lost nothing but he loses his job. That seems unreasonable to me.
If he wasn't remorseful, and if Canada was actually guilty of a record of minimizing, ignoring, and downplaying the French speaking residents. Canada has bent over backwards to accommodate Quebec Province in language, culture, and politics. What do you think would have to be different for you to ask for his early retirement?
WTF are you talking about?Well would you pay a rich person to overlook people like you?
So this "early retirement" is bullshit. If he wasn't remorseful, and if Canada was actually guilty of a record of minimizing, ignoring, and downplaying the French speaking residents. Canada has bent over backwards to accommodate Quebec Province in language, culture, and politics.
It's not like this language issue is a massive and unaddressed problem in Canada.
I personally wouldn't scapegoat him. The guy says he feels bad that he could never learn to speak proper French, even though he has tried to take lessons. That's an excusable human fallibility. So this "early retirement" is bullshit.
Fair enough but in this instance it's bullshit?I personally wouldn't scapegoat him. The guy says he feels bad that he could never learn to speak proper French, even though he has tried to take lessons. That's an excusable human fallibility.
On the other hand, Air Canada is partly owned by the government, and by law is supposed to provide services in both French and English. As an administrative matter it probably behooves Air Canada to eventually have a CEO who is bilingual.
He overlooked the French speaking folks.WTF are you talking about?
