If God were real, you wouldn’t need a book

Well, I doubt anyone could prove that something doesn't exist...except for direct contradictions.
Right, so you're making a request that is not possible (proving something doesn't exist), comparing it to something that is possible (proving something exists) and trying to equate them.

I doubt that...but, give it a try.

Okay, within reason, I can do the same...although Richard Feynman would probably disagree with us. He often noted that "proving" something involved a much more rigorous process than most people suppose. But as I said within reason, I can do the same.

So what?

Well, I doubt anyone could prove that something doesn't exist...except for direct contradictions.

SO ANYONE STUPID ENOUGH TO ASSERT THAT SOMETHING DOES NOT EXIST...PLACES HIM/HERSELF IN THE POSITION YOU FIND YOURSELF IN.

Shit out of luck...and often, as in your case, not ethical enough to concede the error.

An intelligent person realizes he cannot PROVE something does not exist...and doesn't proclaim his/her ignorance by making such an assertion...

...the way you did.

Anything else I can help you with?
do you believe in unicorns?

If not, why not?

(ten points, show your work.)

This isn't high school debate. This is real life.
That doesn't change your burden of proof requirement.
You can't say it's NOT morbidly stupid to say there's no Santa Clause
There was.
and then turn around and say it IS morbidly stupid to say there are no gods.
You can claim there is no god or gods, but the burden is on YOU to back up your claim.

So far you have attempted a circular argument fallacy (fundamentalism) or a negative proof fallacy (not possible).
You cannot prove any of your religions True.

Right, so anyway....

I can prove to you that rocks exist.
Okay. Let's see your proof.
I can prove to you that the Earth is round.
Okay. Let's see your proof.
I can prove to you that the sun is the center of the solar system.
Okay. Let's see your proof.
Explain how it's possible to prove something doesn't exist.
It isn't.
Pick anything and explain how someone would prove it doesn't exist.
You can't.

What I am doing is showing you that your assertions that there are no gods...is nothing more than a blind guess...just as religionist assertions that there is a god are nothing more than just blind guesses.

But, like the religionists...you want to think your blind guesses are more than just blind guesses. Laughingly, you want to think they are the product of logic and science.

Sorry, Buddy. They are not. No reasonable scientist uses

As I said previously, saying it's a blind guess implies that it is a coin flip whether or not Santa Claus exist. You are more than welcome, and I would even encourage you, to tell everyone that you know that you just aren't sure if the Santa Claus from children's books exist or not. I'm not talking about St Nick. I'm talking about the Santa Claus who goes from house to house on Christmas Eve, carried by flying reindeer.

I think it is in your, and @Into the Night , best interest to stick to your high school debate team technicalities and, assuming that you are employed, tell all of your co-workers that Santa Claus just might or might not exist, but you can't be sure. It's 50/50.

Random phrases!
No apparent coherency!!
Buzzword fallacies!!!
It only sounds random and incoherent to you because you've never had any college level science classes.

If you say so. Tell that to people. See how they react.

I would never do that. I am sure you might. It would be interesting to see the reaction of people.

I am talking about the REALITY of existence....and whether or not there are any gods involved. That is what you ought to be talking about also, but you have this thing about Santa...so...

You are in way over your head, Son.

Anyway, my answer to the question, "Is there a GOD involved in the REALITY of existence?"...is: "I do not know...and any guess I make would be a blind guess...which I might make by flipping a coin."

Yours would be, "No...there are no gods."

Margot's would be, "Yes...there is a GOD."

My answer is more logical, scientific, and reasonable than either of yours.

Saying it's a "blind" guess implies just that, you are blindly guessing. If you are blindly guessing, then you have no information that could possibly sway you either way. There's no reasoning. You are flipping a coin. You are rolling dice.

Again, I highly encourage you to tell everyone you know that it's a blind guess whether or not Santa Claus exist.

If I say it is a "blind guess" does not imply anything. It tells it exactly as it is.

You have done Internet debate before, right?

I will stick with flipping a coin. If you want to roll dice to do it...have fun.

There is no way I would do that. But I would tell EVERYONE that anyone guessing that a GOD exists...or that no gods exist...is merely informing us of a blind guess.

You now see that is correct...and are searching for anything that will get you out of the mess you have gotten yourself into.

I am enjoying the Santa thing. Lots of amateur "atheistic" debaters use that...or the Spaghetti monster or the teacup around Saturn. Absolute amateurs doing what I want them to...showing that they are as desperate as religionists to persuade others that their blind guesses are anything other than blind guesses.

Keep digging if you must. I'm here to egg you on.

There is no such thing as a 'militant atheist'!
"The League of Militant Atheists was an atheistic and antireligious organization of workers and intelligentsia that developed in Soviet Russia under the influence of the ideological and cultural views and policies of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union." --> Wikipedia
Morals are set by cultures, religions, and by each individual!!
So from the cultural perspective of Nazi Germany it was moral to mass murder Jews and Gypsies. :palm:
