The Shirley Sherrod Incident

Actually, the Glenn Beck program aired some 12 hours before the AJC was published, and Krauthammer's comments came 11 hrs. before. So you are flat out WRONG about this. A thread by a poster on the message board is hardly what I would consider "The Right" and sort of insignificant compared to THE WHITE HOUSE... no offense to Ice Dancer!

Actually, I think your timeline is fucked. The AJC piece was published well before Beck, or any other media figure for that matter, came to Sherrod's defense.

And I didn't say "the right" because I'm not a jackass and I realize that "the right" and "the left" aren't monolithic. And ID isn't alone. This shit was all over FOXNews and the right-wing blogosphere.

But then... ID was absolutely right, as was Breitbart, the comments she made ADMITTED she was racist in 1986, and the NAACP thought that was just splendid, going by their response, before they learned of her repentance. THAT was the point Breitbart was making, it was about the NAACP's hypocrisy, and NOT what Shirley Sherrod admitted in her confession.

Bullshit.

Uhm, no... the ASJ piece ran the morning AFTER Beck and others made it a national story.

You fucking shithead liar! It's right there in black and white, you goofy moron...

NigelTufnel: "Folks on the right seemed to leap before they looked on this one, too."

Are you now claiming someone hijacked your JPP account and posted that?

Yeah, it was all over Fox News, Beck was doing an entire show on how the administration had overreacted and fired the woman for no good reason! It's been all over Fox News today, as the administration sent the Dough Boy out to 'splain how they fucked up so royally, and he did exactly as you are doing now, and tried to spread the blame all around, (like the wealth!) Problem is, the media nailed his fat ass on that one, reminding him that THEY did their homework and got the story straight, while the administration was demanding this woman "pull over to the side of the road and resign!"

You need to get your head screwed back on straight, fuckwater. All the spinning has got you completely back-asswards on this.

"Folks on the right" does not mean "the right." It means folks on the right.

And the AJC piece ran well before FOXNews or Beck or anyone else was questioning anything. Your timeline is fucked. And "the media" didn't get anything right. "The media" reported Breitbart's bullshit without question, particularly FOXNews, and then had to backtrack once the rug got pulled out from under them.

No it didn't.

*sigh* YES, it DID! The video wasn't posted on Breitbart until Monday afternoon. Tuesday morning's edition of AJC had nothing about it, and Glenn Beck's show aired at 5 p.m. Tuesday. The AJC published the first story in Wednesday's edition of the paper. If you want to go do a Google search, you can see there is nothing showing for AJC online, and the print edition for Tuesday was probably paginated before Breitbart posted the damn video!

"Folks on the right" does not mean "the right." It means folks on the right.

Yes, fucktard... "Folks on THE RIGHT" means "The Right!" Stop being retarded! "Folks on the right" didn't fucking overreact and fire the woman!

Again, no one has backtracked one iota on Fox News, I watched it all day! Where are you getting your information? In Liberal La-La Land, that may very well be the case, but in the REAL FUCKING WORLD, it is not the case, not even remotely so! The rug got pulled out from under the OBAMA ADMINISTRATION who had to spend an entire day doing damage control and sucking up to a low-level employee they unjustly fired because they overreacted! Everything FOX has reported on this, has been in DEFENSE of Ms. Sherrod, and if it weren't for Beck's questioning, the poor woman would have just been thrown under the bus and forgotten! You gotta lot of fucking nerve to just outright LIE your fucking ass off like this... REALLY!

Did you know that Sherrod claims she gave a heads up about the video at the end of last week? I believe she said last Thursday? This means the USDA, who could have gotten the tape from the NAACP who had the proprietary rights to the video NEVER looked at the whole thing...Fox reported on a breaking story Monday night. The USDA and the White House knew about the video comments before then. They chose to fire her.

Onto the emerging story: Sherrod may think herself a reformed racist, and she seems to sincerely believe she is. It appears though that she may be guilty of other statements that are being looked into that appear to show her as a person who views life and policy through the prism of race. Add to this that regardless of her born again status as a reformed racist, she did use her power to discriminate. She also apparently broke the law at the NAACP dinner when she spoke on political issues. The Hatch Act denies Federal Employees who are engaged to speak in their official capacity from speaking on certain political topics.

The NAACP used the race card against the TEA Party in a low-life and dishonest way. This kind of pandering to black and Hispanic Americans has worn out its welcome and indeed undermines efforts to eradicate actual racism. How about the faux cries of outrage about Nazi symbolism being used against Obama? This is the kind of hypocrisy American’s are tired of when for years leftist assholes used the very same symbolism against Bush and CO, and claimed freedom of speech. ...American's have caught onto the hypocrisy and the pandering.

This whole affair with Sherrod can be taken directly back to the doorstep of the NAACP's disingenuous use of the race card!

Actually, the AJC had an article online Tuesday morning. I posted a link to it in the other thread. Here's a blog post on the AJC website from 7:51 a.m. Tuesday morning quoting the article:

http://blogs.ajc.com/jay-bookman-bl...e-of-shirley-sherrod-lets-see-the-whole-tape/

As you said, Beck's show aired at 5 p.m., at least 9 hours after the AJC wrote the article detailing Sherrod's side of the story and quoting the farmers that she helped out.

Yes, fucktard... "Folks on THE RIGHT" means "The Right!" Stop being retarded! "Folks on the right" didn't fucking overreact and fire the woman!

If I meant "the right" I would have said "the right." I didn't. And again, I'm arguing with you about whether the Administration overreacted. They did.

So, first you say FOX didn't backtrack on the original story that it uncritically reported but at the same time everything FOX reported has been defense of Sherrod? Shep Smith says you're full of shit.

Could you imagine the pure audacity of a black woman born in 1948 in Georgia and who grew up in the rural South viewing things through a prism of race in 1986? Heaven forfend! And, of course, you ignore the life lesson that Sherrod was talking about having learned from the experience.

And you mean to tell me that the Hatch Act prohibits a person from telling a story about their life experience? Get the fuck out of here with that bullshit.

The NAACP used the race card against the TEA Party in a low-life and dishonest way. Yes, it's the NAACP's fault that Breitbart is a fucking sleazeball.

If you didn't mean on "the right", you probably shouldn't have typed it, eh?

Leave this one alone Nigel. The rest of your stuff, minus the shrill, a little frantic tone in some parts, is okay. However, this "the right", "It depends on what your definition of 'is' is" crap just looks like a pathetic attempt to get out of the very words you posted and memorialized here in black and white.

Folks on this board are stupid.

Actually, it was Glenn Beck who examined the entire context of her speech, and asked why the White House was demanding she resign! It was Charles Krauthammer who backed him up... so where do you get the right "leaped before they looked" here? If it hadn't been for the right, poor Shirley would have vanished beneath the Obama Express by now, and we wouldn't be talking about this. It was the right who called attention to the overreaction of the administration, and caused them to have to spend most of today, fixing the damage of their own incompetent actions.

The ADMINISTRATION leaped before they looked, as they have been known to do before!
And the attempt to blame Brietbart and "Fox" for their error is preposterous.

Making shit up again, I see.

Fuck you asshole I made up nothing!

Sherrod, who was appointed to the USDA position in 2009, said she first heard of the possible controversy when someone e-mailed her last Thursday to taunt her about her comments. She immediately forwarded the e-mail to the USDA so the agency would be aware. She was told that someone would look into it.

She said it wasn't until Monday that she heard back, and by then, she was being asked for her resignation.

Asked if she felt she had an opportunity to explain, Sherrod said, "No, I didn't. The administration, they were not interested in hearing the truth. No one wanted to hear the truth."

Could you imagine the pure audacity of a black woman born in 1948 in Georgia and who grew up in the rural South viewing things through a prism of race in 1986? Heaven forfend! And, of course, you ignore the life lesson that Sherrod was talking about having learned from the experience.

Again nigey get a fucking clue...it's more recent statements that are being investigated.

And you mean to tell me that the Hatch Act prohibits a person from telling a story about their life experience? Get the fuck out of here with that bullshit.

That was not the only parts of the speech dumbfuck. I said it is being looked into.

Yes, it's the NAACP's fault that Breitbart is a fucking sleazeball.

Yes, it's the NAACP's bomb throwing, false accusations and faux outrage that made this story possible.

And the attempt to blame Brietbart and "Fox" for their error is preposterous.

I'm blaming Breitbart for being a lying scumbag and I'm blaming FOX for promoting the dishonest work of a lying scumbag. I'm blaming the Administration for believing all of it.

There was a time when journalists wouldn't report things that they could not verify were true. Breitbart isn't a journalist, he's a liar, so I guess I can't hold him up to that standard. FOXNews, on the other hand, is a goddamn joke. And don't get me wrong, other news organization were snookered as well, but FOX was the primary vector.

LOL...using the NAACP's term! The NAACP had the entire footage, wonder why it is they didn't view the whole thing. The USDA had knowledge about the controversey 5 days before FOX made a reference to it Monday evening?

The fact of the matter is the woman still used her position to discriminate against a person nigey...great, she had an epiphany. Breitbart was told of the video long before he ran it. When the NAACP attacked the TEA Party he contacted his source and requested the video...period. He should have attempted to check its integrity...lesson learned for Breitbart just like for Mrs. Sherrod...eh?

You make me sick. Seriously. You disgust me.

There are lots of people I disagree with politically but I still like them and think they're decent people. You aren't one of them. Your celebration of this hatchet job really is something to behold. And then on top of it you celebrate some bullshit "investigation" by presumably the same know-nothing right-wing liars that started this whole ordeal. Politics is a dirty game and all, but this too much by half.

1. Fox hadn't aired ANY of it before they made their choice.
2. Breitbart's story under the video was about the REACTION of the AUDIENCE.

Allowing the Administration to say it was Fox's fault is idiotic, saying they follow Breitbart and follow his advise is just flat FUNNY. They react when they shouldn't, they remain in "committee" when action is necessary, in every way this Administration is just a joke.

1) Yes, it did. And it published an article about it (since scrubbed from its website).

2) Look, Breitbart can keep saying that over and over and over again, but I ain't buying it. Why in the world should Breitbart be entitled to the benefit of the doubt?

3) I'm not "allowing the administration" to say anything. And I'm not saying FOX or Breitbart are responsible for firing Sherrod. Read my post again. There's plenty of blame to go around.

4) I find it telling that you seemingly find no fault on the part of Breitbart or FOX but think the administration is a "joke" for taking FOXNews reports seriously. Get a clue.

Check it out for yourself. You can find out facts just as easily as the next person.

If what you're saying is you will only believe facts that sit well within your own reality, fine, but that doesn't necessarily mean they are accepted facts or the actual facts of the story.

You are so colored by your hatred of FoxNews and all who support the right, you couldn't make an impartial decision if your life depended on it. The more people point out a side different than yours, the more twisted in your hate and anger you become. This thread is testimony to that fact.

That's not about logic or fairness. That's about blind hatred.

Check yourself in.

1. No, the shows they blame for it hadn't aired yet.

2. You "ain't buying it" because you didn't read the blog.

3. You are spewing their talking points, this is "allowing" them to continue to spread that idiocy.

4. Breitbart cannot fire government employees with or without information in any capacity at any time, they do not lead anything, do not write legislation, and are incapable of effecting my life in any way. The Administration is capable of doing all of those things. Excuse me if I put a bit more priority on the decisions that the leaders of the nation make over what was written on some dude's blog.
