Let's not protect newborns from hepatitis B

If the mother isn't hep B the baby has virtually no chance of contracting it in it's daily life. We opted out of that one for our daughter. It's just not a risk.

Most of the Hep B cases I think are in the vagrant population, which almost no children have contact with.

It is easy to test for the presence of hepatitus B, both in the mother and in the baby.
A vaccination does not cure any disease. If the baby is already infected, you treat the disease. A vaccination is useless at that point.

The CDC is only reinforcing the individual choice to provide their baby with this vaccination. It can help mitigate the effects of the disease, should the child ever contract it.

No vaccination can cure or prevent a disease.

Nothing the CDC has done is 'anti-vax'. He is simply making the choice up to you. This is sensible, since it is tyranny to require vaccinations by government force.

1) A baby born to a woman with Hepatitus B is infected with the same.
2) A vaccination can prevent what has already happened.
