MAGAs giving up CostCo memberships

I'm curious... how come? We don't have one here, where we've lived for 9 years now. There was one when I lived in a rural county of MO way back when... 16 years ago. It was small, smelled of rotten produce, you had to pay just to have a grocery cart, and pay more if you wanted your purchases in bags. It was dirty and shabby. We went to a more modern, larger one in Maine on vacation. It was much nicer, but still dirty.
I'm surprised to hear that some of their stores are dirty. Ours are as clean as any big name store like Giant Eagle, or even Whole Foods. I go for the fresh produce at very reasonable prices; mostly vegetables, the fruit isn't as good. This week the avocados are 49 cents... usually 67 cents. Also their brand of cookies, 1/2 & 1/2, pork tenderloins, organic oatmeal, Greek salad dressing, feta... what I can think of right now. You get the quarter back when you return the cart but I don't use them; I just bring my own bags.

I don't buy too many "exotic" things that you see once and never again. But they had these cookies back in October, pumpkin spice w/ cream filling, and I kept going back and buying until they were completely out. Another of their cookies I like is the chunk chocolate chip, great big chunks in a nice-size cookie. They're a standard so I'm not worried about them.
We have an Aldi's and another german grocery chain called Lidl's

Wow, they have totally expanded and improved since my last visit, which was obviously years ago. Next time we're in an area with an Aldi's I'll give them a 2nd look.

Is this not a beautiful thing?

Is CostCo canceling MAGA memberships?

No — Costco is not canceling MAGA memberships. What’s happening is that many Trump supporters are voluntarily canceling their own memberships in protest after Costco filed a lawsuit against the Trump administration over tariffs.

Good, let them get rid of themselves from decent folks. Maybe they will remigrate, too..

Maybe they shouldn't rely on China so much. :dunno:
Sam Walton was never about that, but after he passed, his kids surely were, and then they got all the EBT profits subsidized by Americans.
Look for them to lose about 20% with all the deportations. Maybe Costco loses some with tariffs, they'll have to adjust.

Both the Aldi's and Sam's near us are neat and clean, although Aldi's is a bit cramped with product, but still clean.
Sam's is very well maintained, but smaller than the one in Harrisburg (but that's an hour and a half away) so we settle
for the smaller one.. The GF usually goes to Aldi's every 2 weeks, I'll go along occasionally, but I go every time we go
to Sam's (probably why the bill is $500 or so...). We usually hit Sam's about twice or three times a year...
