And them " still in the fight by communication " doesn't make them NOT covered by the Geneva convention.
Trump had declared war against them so now they ARE covered by the Geneva convention.

YES they ARE survivors , they were hit by one of our bombs and were STILL ALIVE they are " SURVIVORS " of an act of war and ARE then covered by the Geneva convention.

No, it is not against the Geneva Conventions. The military can eliminate valid military targets. If the military does not eliminate a valid target on the first shot, they shoot a second, and then a third ... until the valid military target is eliminated.

we could have limped home, but it would have taken 12 or 15 hours. It also would have been more risky in the gulf stream. We might have ended up in North Carolina.

The Gulf does not have such a strong current, and I've never seen it so rough I was uncomfortable. 80 miles is where I go for Reds. Easy with a healthy single motor, Coast Guard or Sea-tow could easily get to you fast. Especially, if you are close to Tampa or Naples, which I am when I am in the gulf.

So basically if any sailor in an active battle abandons a destroyed ship, grabs a emergency radio and is seen radioing for help or other you believe they are fair game to kill. The only response is to float in the sea and HOPE someone finds you and not use the radio. Is that your view?

And holding on to any debris in the ocean is quite common, even burning debris as it is in the WATER and that does not mean all of it will burn. Already wet sections, you are holding on to will not likely burn. I can even show you pleasure craft sinking and burning where people are clinging to it, since you seem to not understand this.

You THOUGHT you had TWO healthy motors .

Coming home on one healthy engine and one dead engine is easier than getting towed.
