Here we go as both Trump and Pete Hegseth try and distance them from the second strike on that boat and leave the Admiral out to defend his actions and choices as if they were not directed by them.
I doubt anyone is surprised by this, even Magats here, but Magats here will continue to defend this up to the point where it is absolutely clear Trump and Pete will not TACP and will refuse to have the Admirals back at which point the Magats will then change and start saying 'ok it was wrong and illegal but Trump and Pete had nothing to do with it'. YOu can take that last sentence to the bank and pin and use it when the Magats flop.
Trump now saying he, the POTUS, "knew nothing about it", "would not have wanted that", meaning the Admiral acted against his wishes...
Hegseth is now saying this was the Admirals decision, on his own, with no guidance from Hegseth to do it.
President Trump said late Sunday that he has complete confidence in Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, even as the commander in chief said he would look into allegations that Hegseth gave an order to “kill everybody” aboard an alleged drug boat in September.
...
“I don’t know anything about it. He said he did not say that, and I believe him, 100 percent,” Trump said aboard Air Force One when asked about Friday’s Washington Post report that the initial strike left two survivors clinging to the wreckage.
The Post reported the special operations commander, who was in charge of the military operation, ordered a second attack to comply with Hegseth’s earlier order to “kill everybody” aboard the vessel.
Trump said he would not have ordered a second strike.
“No. 1, I don’t know that that happened,” Trump said, when asked whether a hypothetical second strike would be illegal. “And Pete said he did not want them — he didn’t even know what people were talking about. So, we’ll look at, we’ll look into it.”
“But no, I wouldn’t have wanted that, not a second strike,”

Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth made clear that he believes Admiral Frank “Mitch” Bradley is the man responsible for a U.S. attack on the survivors of a boat bombing in the Caribbean...
On Monday night, Hegseth tweeted “support” of Bradley while also making sure to say that the admiral was responsible for “combat decisions”:
Contrast the above with Hegseth below saying 2 months ago... "I watched it live. We knew exactly who was in that boat..."

Magats on this forum (@T. A. Gardner , @FastLane , etc) do you still stand by it be wrong and treasonous to remind those in the military that they need to remember their obligation to not follow illegal orders when it is clear that those in the Command chain of this decision may face hearings with a change in Congress, and they will have no backing, in terms of accountability from Trump and Hegseth?

Hegseth Throws Admiral Under the Bus, Says Navy Leader Ordered Boat Survivors Killed
Let’s make one thing crystal clear (Hegseth said):
Admiral Mitch Bradley is an American hero, a true professional, and has my 100% support. I stand by him and the combat decisions he has made — on the September 2 mission and all others since.
America is fortunate to have such men protecting us. When this
@DeptofWar
says we have the back of our warriors — we mean it.
