I know you can't hear the conversation so I'll forgive you. Another female reporter was asking Trump a question on Venezuela and the rude little piggy tried to talk over her. Trump was trying to listen to the 2nd female reporter and was having a hard time hearing her (probably because of the jet noise) then he became annoyed at Miss Piggy's rudeness and told her to be quiet. The second female reporter then finished her question and Trump answered it.

It's what they do. Trump shouts people down all the time.

There is a mature way to handle that, and a baby-ish way to handle that. Guess which one Trump chose?

Obama is no Midwesterner, he didn't grow up there. And this is BS. I have family in Chicago, they don't run around calling women "sweetie", you are just making up anecdotes and assuming everyone will believe you.

The man dismissed her with a misogynistic "sweetie" and then, rather than try to talk around it like you are doing here, he apologized. Weakly... but he apologized. It isn't even my point that he did it, just that you were not all over that like white on rice... We have direct examples of politicians acting this way, we know how you would react for a Democrat, we've seen it. Here. I think he was childish... I don't think he was calling her fat though, I think he wanted a question from another reporter. Still. If I had done that, I would apologize.

Stop trying to BS people that are deep into politics, you aren't good enough at it.

I'm not "protecting some other leftist." For starters, because I'm not a leftist. But I just find Trump excuse-making to be troubling on this one, and on almost any one.

And that's all it is. Utilizing weak whataboutism to normalize behavior that no rational human should find acceptable.

I'm not excusing. I am comparing.

What did I do when Obama called the woman "sweetie"... nothing. I didn't think it was that big of a deal. Yes, some right wingers talked about it here. What did I do when Trump called a woman "piggie" for hogging all the air time? Well. Actually slightly more than when Obama called the woman "sweetie" as I've noted that I personally would apologize for losing control over my emotions like that. But then... I'm a normal emotionally stunted American male.

This isn't "weak whataboutism" it is a look at what we've done. We've seen this same thing from politicians and how each side would react if it is "their" politician.

Also, yes you are protecting some other leftist, unless you are admitting to also being Jade Dragon...
