A man who likes men COULD choose a marriage instead, as that option is just as available to him as it is to anyone else, but he naturally won't choose that option because he likes men, not women.
The theoretical possibility of procreation is indeed a game-changer in the type of union that is being formed. Only one such union can produce fruit (children). I'll leave it to you to guess which one that is.
