personally, i do not think that bho would push it that far - at best for mcchrystal, he will be allowed to resign at worse he will be fired

IMHO, if Obama doesn't accept the resignation, but admonishes McChrystal before putting him back in the field, that will REALLY piss off the neocon peanut gallery and give McChrystal a bitter pill to swallow. That way, Obama could then fire him for any future similar mishaps and not get any heat for it.

Well I posted a thread and asked the question in a couple of other threads, I can't seem to find what McCrystal said... can you tell me what he said that resulted in his dismissal? I mean, it had to be something pretty bad, to be compared to MacArthur and McClellan, and for no one to even be able to bring themselves to utter the words. I am really curious as to what it was... we talk about all kinds of despicable shit here, so I am sure it can't be something worse than butt sex or some of the other topics... really, it's okay to tell us what McCrystal supposedly said about Obama that "broke the code of military conduct" as you say.... I'm waiting!!

I think he upgraded Generals, one who successfully employed the "COIN strategy" in Iraq for one who was talking defeat as well as insubordinate.

And pray, enlighten us all as to what "heat" is Obama taking? Because even various neocon punditry and GOP politicos have publically stated that Obama made the right move in calling McChrystal on the carpet and "accepting" his resignation.

McChrystal shot his mouth off once too often, and paid the price as military law dictates. Obama comes off none worse for wear on this.

Now, back to the "war on terror". :(

I heard Jerry Rivers take on this and I think he's mostly right on this, but I'd go one step further.

McChrystal is a Democrat and politically old-school liberal. He made the mistake of thinking the Rolling Stone was on the same team; that new-age liberalism was the same as old-school liberalism. He voted for Obama and thought that since he was "hip" for doing so, the new age liberals would support him. What he failed to understand is that liberals today hate America, they hate its military especially, and are working all angles to destroy her.

Michael Hastings was basically spying for the enemy, and used McChrystal's gullibilty against him to take him down.
