Construction jobs pay very well. Plenty of opportunities for employment.Building a grand ballroom isn't a good look when most working people are challenged by inflation and a flat jobs market.

Wrong, stupidfuck; it is not.Hey dummy, the entire east wing is going to be demolished
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
A few construction jobs are not significant. Trump is tearing down the east wing, which he said he would not do. He is bulldozing part of the White House. The funding facts will come out later. We know Trump lies. Maintaining and protecting his gaudy ballroom will be a forever expense. Why do you back every damn thing that crook does?Except that it has created jobs, and without the taxpayers footing the bill.
What are you bitching about?
Yeah, so is Popeye, but that don’t make it realstill winning everything.

Trump is tearing down the east wing, which he said he would not do.
Ah, no one knows how this idiotic ballroom is being paid for, so far all we have is “Trump says,” and he himself is claiming he will pay for the majority of it, like that is an answerWhich changes nothing at all of what I have stated in this thread.
Things we paid for:
Obama's basketball courts (built over tennis courts that were used by Bush and other Presidents (you know, historic and stuff).
Truman's reconstruction. (literally the entire building was gutted, only the exterior walls remained, the ENTIRE building).
The Rose Garden.
The Press Briefing Room (installed over a pool we paid for).
Nixon's Bowling Alley.
Thing we did not pay for:
The outdoor pool financed by Gerald Ford personally.
The tennis pavilion, completed during Trump's first term was also financed by private donations.
This Big Beautiful Ballroom.
First of all, you have no idea about 'Trump's world.' You've bought every libtard fantasy about Trump, his family, his company, and his friends. It was disgusting but at the same time amusing watching the left try to destroy Trump from day one. They started with the very old idea that came from Stalin's head of the secret police, 'Show me the man, and I'll show you the crime.' I could go on and inform you about the truth but I feel like I'd be wasting my time.Right, Trump says he has “friends” paying for it, like Trump’s “friends” do anything out of the kindness of their heart, that is not Trump’s world
And if Trump can get his “friends” to pay for his Ballroom, why cant he get them to pay for something America actually needs
Apparently you think there’s some 'Libtard TDS Manual' demanding presidents need permission to touch the White House? A quick Google might jolt that delusional brain of yours. Presidents have been sprucing up the place forever, no permission needed then, and Trump sure doesn’t now. Still, your America-loving dealmaker made sure to clear it with the White House Historical Association, because he’s classy like that. Oh, and it’s not costing us a dime, bet that stings. I know, I've heard your dumbass buddies on CNN and MsNow suggesting that Trump will somehow use this space to profit, lol. While you’re seething, drowning in your radical libtard tears, Trump’s having the time of his life making America great again and now making the White House great again. LMFAO at your misery, it’s glorious and well deserved. The White House does NOT belong to Trump. He can't do with it what he wants. It's the people's house. He's just a renter.
You never have a clue, trumptard.
Ah, no one knows how this idiotic ballroom is being paid for, so far all we have is “Trump says,” and he himself is claiming he will pay for the majority of it, like that is an answer. And on top of that, the plans haven’t even been submitted to the appropriate positions yet
Why do we need a ballroom, the country has managed without one for over 200 years.Except that it has created jobs, and without the taxpayers footing the bill.
What are you bitching about?
The poster claimed the rentals would cost more than the ballroom, which is why I asked the questions, and now that that is settled, show us where this would cost more thanYou could have looked it up. Maybe you did, and didn't want to admit what you found.
White House tents are rented on a per-event basis, not purchased outright.
This aligns with federal procurement practices for temporary event infrastructure, managed through the General Services Administration (GSA), which centralizes contracts for common goods and services across agencies.
The Executive Office of the President (which oversees White House operations) procures via GSA schedules or competitive bids from certified vendors specializing in diplomatic events (e.g., companies like Taylor Rental or custom fabricators).
Purchasing would be impractical for one-off uses, as tents are event-specific and not reusable year-round due to storage constraints on the 18-acre grounds.
- Why rental? It avoids capital expenditure on non-permanent assets. Historical examples include Obama-era state dinners (e.g., for India in 2009 or Africa summit in 2014), where tents were rented similarly.
- However, public expense is still involved for:
- Procurement and oversight: GSA contract administration and inspections (part of the ~$805 million annual White House budget for operations, including events).
- Event logistics: Federal staffing, utilities, and security for setup.
- Indirect costs: If damage occurs, the government may pay deductibles or fees.
That doesn’t make it rightIt's happening, whether you like it or not.
Wrong, in fact, no one knows where the money is coming from, it’s all “Trump says”If there was taxpayer money going towards the renovation we would know it by now that's for sure... He's paying for it along with donations.. I imagine there will be a list somewhere and a plaque inside the ballroom....As a thank you to the contributors...
Again. Paid for by private folks cost to the taxpayer $0. Renting tents, providing security (easily violated, if you remember the two crashers at the Obama's first outdoor event), etc. cost to the taxpayer $actualmoney...The poster claimed the rentals would cost more than the ballroom, which is why I asked the questions, and now that that is settled, show us where this would cost more than

I'll take 0 vs anything at all....
Regardless. renovating the WH to add a large event venue is something that has been needed for a long time. That it is getting finished now at no cost to me... I am good with that. And, yes, I would be good with it if a democrat paid for it without taking my money to pay for it too....
