I do suspect that, in general, progressives are more intelligent and reasonable than conservatives, so I think when further studies are done, the reason for the phenomena (if it truly is so) probably makes lots of sense.

The studies showing how personality shapes ideology are fascinating and explain why a robust left and right are vital for a free society. That makes the Democrat Party’s current state a serious problem.
