Biden and EV jobs: Another lie from the worst modern US president

Remember when Biden said EV's and green tech would provide lots of jobs for Americans? No?

There, refresh your memory if you like.

Well, ICE et al., just raided a Hyundai EV battery manufacturing plant under construction and arrested hundreds of illegal aliens working construction jobs there. Seems those "good paying" jobs Biden promised were actually low-paying ones given to illegal aliens in the construction business in this case.

Maybe now that Trump is taking care of business with illegal immigration those jobs WILL go to Americans and pay better. I also hope the companies that hired those illegals end up with their management getting charged for doing so to make an example of them to the rest of companies using illegal alien labor.

It's Biden's fault that a business hired illegals?

It's Biden's fault that:

He let somewhere between 5 and 12 million new illegals into the country.
He did nothing to enforce US immigration laws with regard to illegals during his term.
He did nothing to encourage employers not to hire illegals, and if anything did the exact opposite.
He deported more than Trump.

He deported more than Trump.
Not by percentage of those coming into the country. His percentage of deportations on illegals caught coming into the US at the border was the lowest of any modern president, and his percentage internally was the lowest as well. The sheer number he did deport only amplifies how vastly great the number crossing the border was during his administration. In his four years in office it would be reasonable to state he doubled the population of illegals in the US, at a minimum.

Right now, Trump's deportation numbers at the US Southern border are miniscule because hardly anyone is trying to enter the US illegally there. But by percentage, those that do try are virtually all being deported giving Trump a near 100% rate of deportations of such persons. By that measure, he is infinitely more successful at securing the Southern border and deporting illegals compared to Biden.

Is what I said wrong?

No, it's just irrelevant and bad statistics trying to pose as a valid comparison.

Here's what you are in essence arguing:

Biden has 1000 border crossers. He deports 100 of them and the other 900 get into the US and are now here illegally.

Trump has 10 border crossers. He deports all 10 and none get in.

You claim that Biden was more successful at deporting people because he deported ten times more people than Trump did.

And yet you have no source, only guesses.

The fact of the matter is that Biden deported many illegals, which shows he tried and didn't support open borders.
I don't need a source for that comparison. But here. My analogy is valid.

"Under Biden, there were over 1.95 million in fiscal 2021, over 2.7 million in fiscal 2022 and over 3.2 million in fiscal 2023, according to the data."

I'd say that the border security worked. So you cannot accuse Biden for wanting open borders.

Biden hired the workers?

Biden created the conditions that allowed their hiring and for their employers to get away with that.

News reports during Trump's first term revealed that the Trump Organization employed undocumented workers at several of its properties, including his golf clubs
. This was documented despite Trump's hardline stance on immigration during his presidential campaign and administration.
Specific incidents of hiring undocumented workers
  • Trump National Golf Club, Bedminster, New Jersey: In December 2018, The New York Times reported that the Trump golf course in Bedminster had employed undocumented workers, some of whom worked there for years. Following the story, more than a dozen undocumented workers were fired. Some workers alleged that managers knew they lacked legal status, an accusation the company denied.
  • Trump National Golf Club, Westchester County, New York: In January 2019, The Washington Post reported that the company had fired about a dozen undocumented workers from its Westchester golf course. One worker had been with the company since 2005.
  • Trump construction sites: An August 2019 Washington Post investigation found that the Trump Organization had employed undocumented construction workers, including some who built features at its properties around the eastern U.S., for nearly two decades.
  • Trump Tower: Early reports and legal proceedings referenced the use of undocumented Polish workers during the demolition of the building that preceded Trump Tower in the 1980s. A federal judge later ruled that Trump "should have known" about their status.
