Hard to say. My speculation is that Byrd was under orders to select a protester at random, and kill them. But it is just speculation that fits with the lies of the FBI, and the actions of the Pelosi congress.

We need an investigation to get the facts - as opposed to the whitewash that was conducted by all involved back in 2021. That the FBI refused to investigate only furthers suspicion of wrongdoing. Byrd wasn't cleared, the incident was covered up.
