It's about the fucking law you idiot. If the law says that DoE is supposed to service the loan and there is no DoE then what is there to prevent all loan holders from taking their contract to a court and simply showing that DoE doesn't exist while the law says they are supposed to make payments under DoE rules. A court can't enforce payment. It is not an argument ad absurdum. It is the fucking way the law works. Title 20 lays out the responsibilities for DoE.

The only way DoE can go away is if Congress changes the law and moves all their current liabilities and responsibilities to a different US government agency. To eliminate it without those changes means that the law is no longer enforceable because there is no DoE to do the things required by law. The only reductio ad absurdism is to claim that the President can eliminate agencies without changes to the law because it creates the absurd result where the agency that is required to do things by law doesn't exist.

The ONLY way the DoE can go away is for Congress to change the law!!
 
The Department of Education should be leveling the quality of education nationwide. That way, if you move to another state, you can be at an equal level. When you move, your kids have to fit into a new school.
States' rights are a race to the bottom. There will be states that will have lower standards. Their people will suffer.
 
To make sure That the transition is smooth and done appropriately, of course... This is all about the kids and the teachers and the schools and the parents... I've been saying revamp and revise and renovate for years and years... It will still be there in some capacity... But thankfully not the way it is now...
