I bet I could be a star playing tennis against double amputees!.
I dunno.

Disagree. Thankfully, even Blue states are seeing the folly of early protocols that aren't adequate for trans issues in sports.
Aside from the glaring competition issues, women athletes are being forced to share locker rooms with males who are still attracted to women.
Slowly but surely, this will get sorted out so it's fair for everyone.
They are. They realize that original protocols were severely lacking.
There are social issues as well. Would you want your daughter being forced to shower with male athletes?
I agree that social trans issues and athletic trans issues are very different.
Given that it's fairly recent, the NCAA and the Olympic committee are working toward getting it right.
Giving trans people the same rights as other people to exist peacefully is only right, as it doesn't take away the rights of anyone else.
Giving men the right to compete against women denies the rights of the latter.
Lest we forget, there is a big difference between gender and sex.
Sorry if your whiny transgender "girlfriend" can't compete with his biological sex but he should leave the real girls alone just like you do.
Why can't men compete against men without 'whining'?
It's about scholarships.
Thankfully, men must compete against men in the Olympics
We disagree on how serious it is. And we disagree on how ‘unfair’ it is. High schools actually recruit athletes and many private schools will leave everyone else playing for second place. Is that ‘unfair’. Of course it is. When did Congress address THAT issue of unfairness? I think we both know the answer. Studies have demonstrated that the advantage trope is a myth. Colleges and high school districts will figure it out. It just isn’t a topic worthy of discussion and certainly an utter waste of tax dollars. All to gin up more hatred for trans people. THAT is the issue.
It's so simple girls compete on girl's teams ...boys compete on boy's teams.... like Special or Paralympics there will eventually be translympics... but right now stay in your lane...
I won’t say it’s all about winning but it’s about the “opportunity” to win. Without the “opportunity” to win why else compete in a contest?
Using the logic you present there might as well not be any male sports separate from female sports. We'll just lump them all together and the ladies can just be happy with competing with no opportunity to win.
Also using that logic that male swimmer who is allowed to compete with females should have been happy to “just compete” with those of his own gender. If he wasn’t happy about not winning he could have trained harder and gotten better.
Don't know if you've ever watched South Park but they do a pretty good job of skewering everything. To your point of trans boxers, it's included in this clip from a 2019 episode.
Yep. It’s all about winning.
Look, the NCAA with the transfer portal and the NIL thing have turned college sports into professional sports. So, I really don’t give a damn about how they handle this, since they’ve fucked up everything else.
If a female high school athlete is good enough, trans or no trans, they will find scholarship opportunities. So, it really isn’t about that, either, is it.
Cawacko is correct. It’s a pretty minor issue blown out of proportion by those who have a different agenda.
I'll only speak for myself here (meaning I'm not trying to speak for other conservatives or anyone else). I'm not going to claim to understand why someone would make permanent changes to their body. I don't get it. That said, to each his own how they want to live their life and if this is what they choose then that is their right. Not surprisingly, I've seen transgender people for years in San Francisco and at the end of the day they are people just like everyone else who are just living their life.
I don't think transgender people should be denied the right to participate in sports. At the same time I have a young daughter and I don't think it fair or appropriate really for a transgender person to be on her team. It's possible I change my mind on that in the future I suppose as she is very likely going to have one or compete against one but that's where I stand today. I think in time there will likely be enough transgender people that we can create leagues for them. But there aren't today so I wrestle with how to co-exist the two in the meantime.
Regarding Congressional legislation, no matter who does much of it is virtue signaling to their voters (especially when it is made with little attempt at bi-partisan support knowing that it will never pass Congress). That's what is most likely happening here with this legislation.
Not according to Bruce JennerWe disagree on how serious it is. If it's about winning, then why are men so hard up to compete against women? Because every one of them is middle of the road against men.Yeah, it will get sorted out.
But, the major complaint isn’t about locker rooms, is it? It’s about winning.
Just because you refuse to address it, doesn't mean it isn't an issue. As I said before, the locker room thing isn’t the real issue, is it? It’s all about winning.
If it were a privilege, like driving or owning a gun, then there would be protocols that need to be met. Thus far, said protocols are severely lacking. There is no “right to compete”. Only the privilege to do so.
