Only in Alabama!

Yes I understood that point, and was speculating that Egypt had female pharaohs because their natural defensive geography did not require them to be in a constant state of militarization.

On the other hand, history has examples of women who were capable of effective military command: Queen Boudicca, Joan of Arc, those two sisters in ancient Vietnam.
Good point about how geography plays into the character of a civilization.

Agreed women have proved to be effective warriors. It's just not the trend. There are many great male communicators, but the overall trend is that females are better at it. Per this discussion, it seems that male-dominated societies don't give them the chance to prove it.

Republicans might do better with Hispanic citizens if they would quit whipping up fear and hate against migrant asylum-seekers, most of whom are Hispanic. #TRE45ON doesn't help by characterizing them as diseased criminals.

It would appear that they are backing off on their fear-and-loathing campaign now that the DC Repukes have refused to do anything about the border. Imagine that.

Given the large streak of White Supremacism running through the Republican Party these days, they'd never do it. The current Republican Party AKA the Party of Trump is staunchly "My way or the highway". They don't compromise and will not back away from their view of White Supremacy AKA Manifest Destiny.

That said, they'll happily accept Hispanics who toe the Alt-Right party line.

The turning away from both the Republican Party *and* the Xtian church by young people is an interesting trend, don't you think? It does not bode well for the GOP.

According to this report, only 26% of 18-29 yo whites are Christian. Only 31% of whites in the 30-49 yo bracket are.

I will have to wait to see if that hurts the GOP.

I have been noticing more and more rightwing atheists, and the Neonazis, hillbillies, and authoritarians Trump has been able to pull into MAGA tend to be completely irreligious. I think the key for the GOP is to at least pretend to be Christian, like Trump does, to hold their coalition together

I think it is a trend, but is the trend biological or cultural?

Women get tagged with the nesting and nurturing label, but some of the most notable empire builders in history have been women. Elizabeth 1, Catherine the Great, Isabella 1.

Both. Females, naturally, are more nesters then males, but both are human beings with human minds so there's a lot of overlap.

There are numerous papers and studies on the difference...but let's be honest. We're still pretty clueless about why some people are not heterosexual so understanding which differences between the sexes are genetic and which are cultural is difficult...and often a mixture of both. That said, the work continues.

3 PSYCHOLOGICAL AND BEHAVIORAL SEX DIFFERENCES
In addition to biological differences, men and women differ in many psychological and behavioral aspects. For instance, men perform better on specific visuospatial aspects (e.g., mental rotation) compared to women; and women perform better on specific verbal tasks (e.g., verbal fluency) compared to men [88]. Furthermore, there is a large sex difference in sexual interests and behaviors, such as interest in casual sex, interest in multiple sex partners, and interest in visual-sexual stimuli (e.g., pornography) [89; 90]. Other examples are summarized in Table 3.

Sounds reasonable.

But I am just not very well informed on the science of gender in the social, biological, and cultural context.

Welcome to the club. LOL

Politically, as this thread proves, the theocratic Alt-Right tries to pigeon-hole people by their sex or social role, but science proves it's not that clear cut. People do follow trends, but as your Boadicea example points out, the sex of a human being doesn't limit their abilities.

Democrats are freaking out... their position is just total political overreaction and ridiculous..

How is your blind hatred of Conservatives different from the blind hatred of Terry, Libhater, Legion or others against Liberals? Other than polarity, of course.

Can you name one thing Conservatives have done by themselves that has made the country an objectively better place?

By themselves? Sure; take care of themselves and their families plus pay their taxes. Serve in the military.

They don't take care of their families or themselves...who was it who refused to get vaccinated?

And they don't make enough money to pay taxes, and that's not something they do on their own...they're compelled to do that.

Conservatives don't want any taxes; haven't you been paying attention?

So what have Conservatives done to make the country an objectively better place? NOTHING. You can't even think of something.

Serve in the military.

Liberals do that too.

What have Conservatives done by themselves that has made the country an objectively better place? NOTHING!

You can't even think of ONE THING they've done that was positive.

Paying taxes is something they MUST do. They don't want to pay taxes. Why do you think they're always trying to get rid of taxes?????

Sorry for your loss. I lost mine a few years ago. Both were old and died of natural causes.

My mother died in a car accident when I was 23, and my father died shortly after from natural causes, but I think it was because he couldn't bear to live without her.

Your broadbrushing is doing you a disservice since claiming that all conservatives in America are anti-vaxxers is clearly wrong. Same for your claim that none pay their taxes.

You're wrong since 1) I always get all of my vaccines and follow the advice of medical science. 2) I pay my taxes and am not on welfare.

If you want to pull the wool over your own eyes and believe a delusion just like Terry, Stone and the MAGAts do about Democrats, you are free to do so, but I don't recommend it.

It's sad to lose them when you were so young. Hopefully you had plenty of family support after losing your parents.

First of all Dutch, paying taxes isn't something Conservatives did on their own to make the country an objectively better place. They are compelled to pay taxes because if they don't, they end up in jail. If given the choice, they would not pay taxes but they WOULD accept government spending if it helped them.

Secondly, I have yet to see a single Conservative push the vaccine. I have seen plenty sow doubt over the vaccine, but I have not seen any who were urging others to get it. The Conservative position is that COVID is a hoax, so the vaccine is unnecessary.

So great, we've established exactly what I said one post ago, that Conservatives don't take care of themselves OR their families. This is repeating every single stupid conversation I've ever had with you...you argue with me but then eventually, you express my position while trying to claim it's yours.
