Judge orders Trump to pay nearly $355 million in civil fraud trial

I imagine the rest of the misbegotten spawn are equally worried. Well, maybe not Ivanka the Simple since she has a bit of her own plus Jared's fortune.

I imagine Trump is going to do everything he can to have the RNC and his army of mouth-breathering small doners pay his lawyers and his civil penalties.

A very good article that explains why Trump does not stand a chance in his upcoming criminal trials. None of the bullshit lies he spouts in the court of public opinion will be allowed in a criminal trial unless he testifies and his doing that in the Carroll case caused her 12 million dollar claim to turn into 83 million.

Trump’s loss in N.Y. is a powerful predictor of what’s to come in his criminal trials

Maybe you don't see it because you are a Trump worshipper that believes whatever that lying asshole tells you. Rest asured the fucker would not have been found guilty and fined nearly 400 million if he were innocent, that's all anyone can tell an ignorant shithead like you who refuses to believe.

Ruh roh. Poor Richard Saunders is most certainly NOT a Trumpanzee. Read some of his posts for proof. I think you might be mixing him up with who he was replying to.

Courts and officials that predetermine the outcome of cases show that our justice system has just rolled over into the gutter... that judge and Tish..(and Fani) are great examples..
Pretty disgusting .... even though Tish and Fani are pretty entertaining to watch... it's impossible to pass a horrific accident and not stare...

You served the same whine when Derek Chauvin was convicted of murdering George Floyd. Remember how you cried and stomped and insisted that the jury was commanded to bring a guilty verdict because there might be riots? Shall I go find those posts for you, Toxic?

Like most one-dimensional simpletons, you think that corruption only exists when it goes against what you wanted to have happen. Whether it's an #IMPOTUSx2 being found liable for tax evasion or sexual assault or defamation, whether it's an #IMPOTUSx2 given 91 felony indictments for various crimes including trying to overturn an election and instigating an insurrection, whether it's a cop found guilty of murdering an unarmed black man, whether it's a sports figure found guilty of rape -- the courts are "corrupt" in your tiny mind.

Now toddle off to your safe house and declare a "meltdown." Scoot!

I didn't say he was not guilty. I said there appears to be nothing in the ruling assessing money for tax infractions. I asked for that reference.

All the fines are for profits illegally gained on specific properties due to the fraud of providing false documents to banks and insurance companies.

There is lots of talk, that the AUDITS Trump was continually referring to, while Potus, are actually close to coming to a close and Trump is going to end up with another $100MM plus bill.

Prior to all these Judgements Trump likely would have been negotiated a cash settlement amount to make it go away. They might have been at that stage. But now, with the new debts he owes, he may not be in a position to offer that.

He already is doing that and he's bleeding both his Sheeple and the RNC dry....which is a good thing. Soon Pedo Don will personally be broke along with the Party of Trump and his supporters.

https://www.cnn.com/2024/02/06/politics/trump-rnc-mcdaniel/index.html

When news broke last week that the Republican National Committee had its worst fundraising year in a decade, Donald Trump and his advisers were deeply alarmed. They began laying plans to send a clear message that things needed to change as the former president inches closer to the Republican nomination, sources familiar with the conversations tell CNN...

...Even before the RNC reported having just $8 million in the bank at the end of December, its lowest cash-on-hand figure since 2014, Trump’s top advisers had been preparing to force a major shake-up at the committee.

https://www.businessinsider.com/donald-trump-legal-fees-pac-donor-money-personal-cases-2024-2
Donald Trump spent over $52 million in PAC donor money on legal fees last year. Here's where it all went.
  • Donald Trump spent $52,431,858 on legal fees in 2023 using PAC funds, a Business Insider analysis found.
  • The vast majority — nearly $40 million — went to law firms working on his personal legal problems.
  • Trump spent this small fortune in donor money on his legal fees despite being a billionaire.

Donald Trump's supporters have given him staggering donations. It's paying his legal fees.

Okay, Sheeple! Break open your piggy banks! Papa Don needs your money!!!!

Read the 92 page ruling, it explains the amounts.

OMFG. You guys are complete idiots.
When did the judge prejudge the case.
There were 2 trials.
The first one was to determine if fraud occurred. It was found that fraud did occur.
The second trial was to determine any penalty for the fraud.

In the first trial, even Trump admitted the statements were not true. If something isn't true then it must be false. If a statement is required to be true but is false and the person making the statement knows it is false then it meets the definition of fraud. It would be impossible for anyone to claim there was no fraud based on those facts.

You don't seem to be able to tell fact from fiction or truth from lies.
Yup.

As the Judge has said all along, this is a DOCUMENTS case.

Nothing more need be shown then Trumps written claims, showing clear and undeniable fraud and the judge has laid out each and every one in painstaking detail in ruling so no Appeals court can question it.

I pulled out of his ruling the findings on just one, of more than a dozen Trump frauds for 7 Springs. An undeveloped piece of land, Trump paid Cushman Wakefield to value. They came back and said $30MM and Trump said to his bank $250+MM instead.

How did Trump get to that inflated value?

He lied and represented the land based on it being fully developed and all costs paid, with 7 mansions on it, when it was still raw land with no permits.

That magats think it is legal to get a loan based off of that as long as you pay the loan back, tells you all you need to know about why Magats think 'if they can do that to Trump... they can do that to them' as they too are wannabe grifters and criminals.

Reposting this so even the most stupid of magats cannot deny the clear fraud...

Below are just 3 of many, MANY more detailed frauds the judge laid out in detail in his ruling.

The first property listed there, 7 Springs, was an undeveloped plot of land of which the Trumps PLANNED to build a series of mansions on.

Trump paid Cushman Wakefield to appraise the land, and they gave him a value of $30MM. Trump was not happy with that and instead gave Banks a value range of $261-291MM.

Trump documents, as submitted stated the Mansions were already built and all construction costs complete. All of that was a fabrication. Trump never even had legal permission to develop the lots.

NO FRAUD. Everyone can lie to banks like that!

...or screw over so many lawyers that the only ones who will work for you are at the bottom of the barrel.

Yep! Alsotoo, many attorneys, particularly trial attorneys, are as competitive as athletes. They do not want to lose cases -- even if there's a big paycheck in taking the case. There might be some good PR in representing #TRE45ON in one of his many predicaments, but being stiffed and/or being known as a loser is not worth it to most.

Richard is correct.

There is not, and has not been any consideration in this case of the potential tax implications and penalties.

I think that is almost certainly as we all know (Trump would tell everyone) that he is and has been under Audit for years, and those in the know have been saying that audit (which Trump slowed while POTUS) is finally coming to an end and is going to end in yet another massive penalty for Trump.

So for the NYS AG to jump in to that area and try to 'figure out' what could be owed there, when the Audit might contradict that later, would not be wise.

Agreed. Add to this, a lawyer(s) who are so underwater that no one wants to hire them afterwards.

It doesn't take a lawyer to see that Trump's lawyers were wasting the Court's time with silly motions and requests. This doesn't fair well for the lawyers post-Trump.

IMHO, Melania is smart enough to have covered both her and her son's ass in the prenup renegotiations just like Ivanka covered hers a few years ago. Junior and Eric are proving they could have starred in HBO's "Succession" by being such greedy suckups. LOL

I doubt if SHE is smart enough, but I'm sure she made certain that her attorneys are.

Good news! I find it hilarious that the man who made his bones being a NY celebrity real-estate tycoon will wind up at least 3 of his remaining years an outcast from the self-same area he tried to make his own.

It's not an insubstantial amount of money. It'll be interesting to see where DJT digs it up from. Not sure how easily one can declare bankruptcy to get out of legal fines.
He will still have to pay, he can’t get out of paying this by declaring bankruptcy.

Read the 92 page ruling, it explains the amounts.

Actually you need to read earlier in the ruling since page 92 only summarizes the conclusions. ( I went back and reread, page 48, 82-85 lay out the interest and windfall profits illegally gained.)
Gecko claimed that some was a fine for taxes avoided. I asked where in the ruling that occurs.
The judge points out the difference in valuations for tax purposes and the valuations for statement financial condition sent to banks and insurance companies as evidence of the fraud but never assess the fine based on taxes not paid.

This is about accuracy, not a defense of Trump.

I doubt if SHE is smart enough, but I'm sure she made certain that her attorneys are.

That's smart enough; to admit one doesn't know and hires a good lawyer who does know. LOL

The point being is that Melania, Barron, Tiffany and Ivanka, et al, will be fine. Pedo Don, Junior and Eric, not so much.

I'm guessing TrumpCo will not exist in five years....unless it's a tourist trap selling Trump junk: https://i0.wp.com/boingboing.net/wp-content/uploads/2022/09/trumpstore-scaled.jpg

You can always hope!

But just in case you might want to break out the checkbook tonight and make some more "campaign donations" to DJT. Or, better yet, try to find a Cancer charity one of his sons is running, and donate to that...I'm sure the Trumps will get around to misappropriating from it like they've done before.
Their new grift, getting Lara nominated as RNC chair. Do you think down ballot Republicans are happy with Lara’s declaration that “every single penny” will go to Trump?

In fairness to Trump, and i am not being sarcastic here, I would bet he saw the ~$4MM he has paid Alina as a potential bargain, as it is clear that most of his life he has paid women, he finds attractive, to engage with him.

In Alina he has younger version of Melania, who he thought was costing him a FRACTION of what Melania does. And Alina flatters his ego, shows up as arm candy for Trump at his private functions and rallies while not showing the utter disdain and disgust that Melania shows him.

What Trump did not calculate was that Alina would end up costing, indirectly almost $500MM more than planned with her 'I can fake smart' lawyering.

Trump assumes if someone flatters him they are capable and that is ALL he needs to hire them, into key jobs. This is costing him not just money, but is why he is under many of the criminal indictments.

This makes a lot of sense, esp. the need he has to have arm candy present to show what a great stud he is. Such a stable genius. So much winning.
