That's war. The military are not police. They are not there to 'bring justice to the bad guys.' They are there to kick the living shit out of an enemy of the nation with maximum violence. A true military doesn't serve the enemy a summons or arrest warrant, they come and stomp all over you with bullets and explosives with no fucking warning.

No. I also don't particularly want us giving the Ukrainians billions in military aid. The reason I take the later position is that Ukraine is really irrelevant to the West in terms of, well anything.

What I see in that war is a nearly endless bottomless pit of attrition by two marginally competent militaries beating the shit out of each other for years to come. Not something we should choose to get involved in.
