It removes his name from the Hall of Fame. If they want to put an asterisk next to Bonds/McGwire's names, that's fine. Sosa never did steroids. He corked his bats.

As it is, Ruth's accomplishments are far superior for a number of reasons.

Re. trans men competing against women, they won't advance to pro sports or the Olympics, so it's easy to dismiss this as nothing. But it's really not 'nothing'. You know the common denominator in all of these stories?
The men sucked when they competed against men.

I think there are deeper mental issues here than just being born with the wrong genitalia.

Biological males shouldn't be allowed to compete against women in women's sports. Period.

Well, your argument is that women who lose to men should just suck it up and stop whining. In essence, their mental issues don't concern you.

My argument is that being born with the wrong genitalia is a real thing, and there should be understanding for those who do what they must to end their lifelong angst.

That said, needing to dominate against women because you suck in competition against men is a whole other issue, and perhaps they should seek counseling.

Or simply continue to fail against men, as you suggest female athletes should be doing instead of complaining.

I'm sure you don't support teens playing against children in school sports.

This is much ado about nothing.

There are governing bodies for all collegiate sports. The rules are set that certain levels of testosterone cannot be present for X amount of time or X amount of testing. I don’t recall what those are, nor do I care. Those are the rules, like it or not. If there’s enough hue and cry, they’ll change the rules.

What it comes down to for the people who are shitting their collective diapers on this is, for them, it’s all about WINNING rather than COMPETING. If people are teaching their kids that it’s all about setting records and winning, rather than setting personal goals and doing your best, they’re doing them a disservice.

Other school sports that you mention typically have age groups. Those are their rules.

The problem is you cannot find an easy way for trans swimmers to compete. Are they entitled to compete? How? There are 32 in the nation. So how do you provide a way for them to exercise their right to compete?
If you are concerned about records, just go to the old asterisk or list them in a new record category.

While I don't doubt your numbers, when those swimmers are of all ranks. Where do the trans swimmers fit as a group in rankings? Also there are several swimmers and several heats of swimmers. Not a swimmer, but the top swimmer could have outswum a few dozen swimmers then moved up in rankings. How many swimmers would a person have to beat to make nationals?

It's a problem if it bumps just one girl from her sport...she earned the right to be there... It's not just the record issue...
That being said, give them a lane if they insist on "competing"....and the results are separate...easy....
