Believe it or not: it IS possible to support Israel, condemn Hamas and their attack, and also support the innocent civilians of Gaza.
Israel has killed over 10K Gazans and over 2000 are kids. Their infrastructure is being demolished and many homes are leveled. Hospitals are flattened. Those who will not get a vote are Israelis. They have created another generation of Palestinians who will never stop hating them.
If Hamas had not attacked innocent Israelis, there would be no war in Gaza.
The Palestinians selected Hamas to be their governmental representative.
Get a clue, the Palestinians did this to themselves.
A few have posted it here, as some sort of proof that the civilian population of Gaza doesn't deserve support or sympathy. It supposedly shows majority support for Hamas and for the attacks on Israel.
A few caveats w/ this one:
- Close to 40% of the population there is children, who are not polled
- There is no electricity in most of Gaza. Apparently, the poll was "in person"
- Hamas rule is not unlike rule in Nazi Germany or the old Soviet Union: anyone who criticizes the government in those regimes risks potentially severe reprisals from the government, for themselves and their families
The civilians of Gaza deserve support, and as much protection from what is happening as they can get. Humanitarian conditions there right now are unimaginably bad.
They won 44 percent of the vote in the election which was in 2006. The majority of Palestinians of today did not participate in that vote. We have no idea if they favor Hamas now. After Israel destroys their homeland, it might be possible that are leaning toward Hamas. But nobody knows that for sure.
The Palestinians selected Hamas to be their governmental representative.

How do you know they support Hamas?
Imagine being a citizen in Nazi Germany. Someone comes around doing an "in person" poll, and asks you if you support or oppose Hitler.
If you go w/ the latter, even if you do oppose him - probably a good chance that's your last day of freedom. And maybe your family too.
The Germans elected Hitler. You're making the thread's point and don't even realize it.
The nazi children were Hitler Youth. I'm sure Gazan children are also indoctrinated to hate Jews, as our are own U.S. youth.
Children can't control where they're born, and what they are taught, and what they are forced to do.
Children are innocents.
Watching the years of turmoil between the Israelis and Palestinians sort of reminds me of back in the days when my two children were children and getting into sibling rivalries.
I knew then as I know now, DON'T MAKE THE MISTAKE of trying to take a side in the matters.
Well, because I loved both of them, and it always boiled down to a misunderstanding between them, and there were always logical solutions to settling all the fuss.
When I look at Israels plight over the last 78 years, I perfectly understand their concerns and problems, and want to see them all resolved.
When I look at the Palestinians plight over the last 78 years, I perfectly understand their concerns and problems, and want to see them resolved as well.
There is no side in this matter that is perfectly innocent. There is enough blame to go around on both sides. And I blame this on POLITICS- NOT RELIGIONS.
This is not a war between Religions as a lot of people would like to say. Granted, it may have started out that way, but through the years, this has become more of a Political and Turf war!
There are bad politics involved on both sides. Hamas EXTREMIST TERRORIST VIEWS are to blame for the bad politics on the Palestinian side. And the EXTREME RIGHT-WING politics within Israel, are to blame for all of the Bad Politics on the Israel side.
What hangs in the balance, are millions of innocent Israelis, and millions of innocent Palestinians who are not Extremists, who believe in the Freedom of Religion, who did not choose their EXTREMIST leaders, who want a two state solution, and just want to live in peace with their neighbors!
The only solution is a Two State solution.
So, if I am to choose a side, I am on the side of both the Palestinians and the Israelis who are caught up in the middle of the WAR, who want the TWO-STATE solution.
Unfortunately, we will never get there so long as EXTREMISTS are leading both territories right now- BOTH ISRAEL and PALESTINIA!
Terrorism is certainly wrong! But I also believe EXTREME RIGHT WING politics are also wrong, because they use and justify retaliatory Terrorism, as well, to accomplish their political goals- AND THEY ARE NO BETTER THAN HAMAS IN TERMS OF USING TERRORISM!
Terrorism will never resolve the Israeli and Palestinia Conflict- and both sides are recklessly using it as we speak!
NEXT!
Total horse mierda.
There is no moral equivalence between the be-headers in Hamas and Israel…none.
The Palestinians were offered a two state solution and declined.
AC
You are morbidly naive, Gecko.
Earl, you are a well known RIGHT WING EXTREMIST, and I do not care to hear your opinions on this subject at all- because they are not based on facts!
SIR, YOU are part of the problem I perfectly described!
