And when was this discussion about reparation support? And do we know if his son was unhappy that he used his comments as an example? You just don't like Mike Johnson as the new Speaker of the House... so if anyone is wrongly using this young man as a prop of some sorts you (and others)are...

Johnson stated his “son” stated when Johnson began his career as a politician that he requested not to be involved.

“Newsweek: "When Speaker Johnson first ran for Congress in 2016, he and his wife, Kelly, spoke to their son Michael — who they took in as newlyweds when Michael was 14 years old."

Toxic doesn't know any of this; she is mostly quoting from Johnson's press secretary's words. The press secretary is white and RW so is believable, unlike that black lady who speaks for Biden, who is "nutty" and "a liar."

I don't know whether Johnson's story of Michael has any truth to it or not. It does appear that he has taken flak from the other racist RWers for his stances on discrimination and racial issues. For instance, he caught hell from his own side for stating that George Floyd was murdered. So whether Michael is a real guy, or some passing kid from long ago that Johnson uses as a prop, at least it appears that Johnson is likely not a racist.

If so, I definitely agree. But... (notice correct use of ellipses here) if he used him as a prop to show sympathy for those experiencing racial discrimination, then I suppose maybe his heart was in the right place.

I'm amused, btw, at how quickly this particular RW talking point spread like a virus. Johnson is against SSM and equal rights for homosexuals. But when a LWer points that out, he's "attacking Johnson's Christian religion."
