There is an extremist movement that does not share the basic beliefs of our democracy

Fixed it for ya, buddy.

And no, MAGA does not approve of your tyrannical communistic Oligarchy.

It's not an oligarchy that threatens freedom in the US today, it's an autocratic bureaucracy. When the President can, through bureaucrats control the nation's economic policies in detail you have statist capitalism going on. That is fascist down to its roots. When the President through executive orders and using bureaucrats can alter law, impose what amounts to a secret police state on citizens and political opposition, you are looking at a fascist autocracy.

When you have elections in which voting is done in secret lasting as much as a month, where political operatives get to collect and handle ballots, where anyone can vote regardless of actual requirements, where voters need not even identify themselves, you are looking at a fascist autocracy. That is, a self-perpetuating state ruled by an entrenched elite. Not quite a dictatorship, but damn close. All that autocracy needs to become completely self-perpetuating is to remove the last barriers and political opposition to it by doing things like vilifying the opposition and treating them as criminals. By taking control of elections and announcing the results without the confidence of the public because the entrenched powers know anyone who defies them will be erased from society.

All of that is happening today to one extent or another, and it's all Democrat run.

“There is an extremist movement that does not share the basic beliefs of our democracy. The MAGA movement,” Biden says in excerpts of the speech Thursday in Arizona, released in advance by the White House, referring Trump’s Make America Great Again slogan.

Yes, the DNC. Caught violating the 1st Amendment, multiple times, and completely ignoring Article ll of the Constitution, using the DOJ to mount political attacks, etc., etc.

“Not every Republican -– not even the majority of Republicans –- adhere to the extremist [aka completely rational] MAGA ideology.
Fixed it for ya, again. And so what if some 'battered conservatives' who are still succumbing to the RNC gaslighting aren't on board yet? So what if some 'Sea Island' Elitists aren't ever going to be on board?

There's WAY more of us than them.

I know because I’ve been able to work with Republicans my whole career,” Biden says.
Translated: "I've been able to work with Democrats dressed in Republican clothing my whole career".

Whoopity fuckin' doo... Meanwhile, he continues to bend the common working man over furniture as he's done for his whole career.

“But there is no question that today’s Republican Party is driven and intimidated by MAGA extremists.”
   TOO FUNNY!

Today's Republican Party (RNC) is driven and intimidated by the Globalist Elitist Deep State.

I read that article. Not once in it did anyone actually use the word Democracy as anything other than as a rhetorical, politically driven term. That is, neither the authors of that article, nor those quoted in it, used democracy as anything other than a form of gaslighting. MAGA is evil and wants to destroy our democracy! they claim. They never give examples of how this is occurring (except a few in some of the linked articles embedded within this one about Jan 6), it is simply expected of the reader to believe it's true.

I'd start by asking for a definition of what democracy is and how we are one. Then you'd need to explain how that is diminished, not particularly by MAGA Republicans, but rather in general.

Even reading the embedded links within that article (all AP articles too), all you get is rhetoric and politically charged drivel. The one claim made repeatedly in all of it is that the three-hour riot on Jan 6 was somehow the most evil anti-democratic thing ever done in US history. It's nothing by hyperbolic fear mongering added to the rhetoric.

You need more examples than J6? J6 wasn’t enough?

Guilty verdicts for sedition
Indictments for violation of the Espionage Act.
Indictments for trying to strong arm the Georgia Secretary of State.

MAGAts are nothing more than QAnon light

Gardner thinks the Capitol attack was just a few rude people on an otherwise peaceful tour.
