She took a car and drove directly at an officer which is an attempt to severely injure or kill him with a deadly weapon. That kind of activity makes it so they can defend themselves with deadly force as they were faced with deadly force. My best guess is that this will not go well for the "she didn't deserve it" crowd, the cop that shot her through her windshield was being attacked with a deadly weapon. If I try to hit an officer with my car I am likely to be shot, and the reality is so is she.
