Ohio police shoot pregnant woman

What's the reason to sue?

If the shooting is ruled justifiable..
Thanks for agreeing that you'd sue. I'm sure you'd find a reason, vols.

Thanks, also, for supporting the rule of law. Does this mean police should shoot down whoever breaks the rule of law, vols? Such as violently attacking police and/or innocent civilians?

By the book actually. They are putting themselves on the line to protect the public. Once you cross the line you are a criminal and the police will assess the level of threat. Continue to resist and you escalate the situation. The police were doing their job.

Actually very much not by the book, indeed you are not supposed to put yourself in front of a car during a stop like this.

I knew you had juvenile delinquent written all over you, Gwonda. Why do you hate the police? Do you blame them for all of your inadequacies?

I hate the police because they are bullying thugs who abuse their authority and use it against the citizens of this nation to deprive us of our rights and even our very lives, you bootlicking little cunt.

Did you learn that from personal experience, Gwonda?

Which side of the bullying were you on?

‘Are you going to shoot me?’ Woman asks before Ohio police fatally shoot her

WESTERVILLE, Ohio (WCMH) — Footage from body-worn camera shows a pregnant woman asking police, “What, are you going to shoot me?” seconds before an Ohio officer fatally shot her outside a grocery store.

Blendon Township released body camera footage Friday from two police officers that showed the brief encounter with, and shooting of, Ta’Kiya Young, 21, who died later after being taken to St. Ann’s Hospital.

Young died August 24 after one of two responding officers shot her through the front windshield of a car, outside a Kroger whose employees claimed Young and others were stealing alcohol. The police department has declined to identify the two officers who approached Young’s car that evening, citing victims’ rights legislation called Marsy’s Law.

Witnesses told the murderers that the booze was still on the counter in the store. She'll be accused of attempted murder because the cop stood in front of her car (against protocol) and she began to drive away.

A lot of poor decisions led up to this tragedy...Simply getting out of the car and going into the store to clear up any misunderstanding and there would have been no tragedy...refusing to cooperate, getting lippy with the cop, and try to leave with officers in front of your car, and one with a hand on the window were the absolute wrong choices to make...I think when you hit a police officer with your car purposefully, you've pretty much given up any rights you might have...
This girl was a 21 year old mother with a six and three year old...and a baby on the way...what was she thinking to purposefully escalate a simple situation? There will be an investigation...it's such an incredible tragedy when anyone loses their life like this...but hopefully a lesson to other young people reading the details...
And no police officer wishes for a scene to play out this way...they tried so hard to get her to comply....

Why should she? She was innocent and cops typically cannot be trusted around black people in some states.
Why shouldn't she? If she was innocent, it was an easy fix... she not only didn't cooperate, but she taunted the officers...
This took place in what is a very nice area/suburb in Columbus...but not long ago, in the same area, kids got on social media and advertised a party... took over an apartment complex pool, and a wonderful young man was shot, and lost his life...
Young people have to start making better decisions...this is not all about blaming the police...

You answered your own question. While what she did was wrong, the Ohio cops escalated the situation themselves. They knew what she looked like. They had already run the plates on the car. They knew where to find her. Why escalate this into a fatal situation?

if an officer approaches you and gives you a directive, simply do what they ask...It's just that easy....
This applies to anyone and everyone...No officer wants a situation to unfold that results in a tragedy....

Most don't. Some are just stupid or bored. The officer standing in front of a running car was an idiot who escalated the situation. He shouldn't be carrying a gun.

You want to hold diminished, damaged people and paid public servants to the very same standard, TOP.

Unfortunately, we, in too many instances, can actually do that
because so many of our cops are also diminished, damaged people.
We've got ourselves to blame for that.

Thank the fates that my daughter's police department is less perverse than most.
