Former Chief of Capitol Police Steven Sund, in command on Jan. 6, 2020:

" .. if I was allowed to do my job as the chief... we wouldn't be here today. This didn't have to happen I got lambasted in public and it's all you know everything appears to be a cover-up."


“Like I said, I’m not a conspiracy theorist,” Sund explains, “…but when you look at the information and intelligence they had, the military had, it’s all watered down. I’m not getting intelligence, I’m denied any support from National Guard in advance. I’m denied National Guard while we’re under attack, for 71 minutes…”

“It sounds like they were hiding the intelligence,” Carlson quizzed, to which Sund stunningly responds: “Could there possibly be actually… they kind of wanted something to happen? It’s not a far stretch to begin to think that. It’s sad when you start putting everything together and thinking about the way this played out… what was their end goal?”

Chief Sund says National Guard was only a mile away the whole time but had orders NOT to assist, even after Sund had called begging for assistance.

The right people are being locked up--the people who attacked the Capitol and assaulted police officers. And, those who committed seditious conspiracy.

They shouldn't have needed police protection if those people had not chosen to riot.

Well a couple of things here.

First of all he is selling a book.

Secondly, he has no authority to call out the national guard in DC, only the president can do that.

Thirdly it takes longer to mobilize the national guard than an hour meaning they wouldn't have gotten there in time anyways.

Unlike the marine unit that guards the White House the national guard does not have a ready unit on standby.

There's not much they could have done in a little over an hours time before the police got it under control.

The reason is OBVIOUS; this was a Democrat plan and things only got out of hand when the Capitol policies started spraying people with teargas and hitting them with batons.

I guess you missed this part: National Guard was only a mile away the whole time but had orders NOT to assist :palm:

In addition, he never claimed he could call out the guard. Trump stated that he offered the guard and that Pelosi and the Democratic mayor didn't want "the optics."

Again, he never claimed he did. Only the Mayor of DC can do that. Trump was offering, they didn't like the "optics." In other words, they probably wanted the violence to take place.
