Unindicted Co-conspirators

Who cares?

People who care about the American experiment continuing care. Ty Cobb, Trump's old top lawyer says Trump has no defense. He is toast. Trump had a cabal of crazies and weirdos who he could control. If they were not so dangerous and weren't committed to overthrowing a fair and honest election they would be laughable.
Trump does not have pardoning power so Bannon cannot get a get-out-of-jail free card.

Seeing how this all plays out will be great.

Hopefully all the Trump Dick Suckers are so distraught, they have to spend extra time in the closet practicing autoerotic asphyxiation.

Just we actual patriots who give a shit about the country. Trumpanzees are not included.

Agreed. All of Trump's traitors will lie, cheat and steal to make this go away. It's just proof they are authoritarian assholes who hate America's freedoms and our Constituiton. They prefer a white nationalist dictator to a Federal Constitutional Republic. If they try to start the "civil war" they keep talking about, I expect most will end up bleeding out in the streets.

As for the unindicted coconspirators, Sydney Powell may have gone batshit crazy, but she has an interesting history. Not much on her personal life, but she's done some good charity work:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sidney_Powell#Personal_life_and_other_ventures
Powell has a son from a marriage that ended in divorce "decades ago". In 2004, she founded a non-profit for victims of domestic violence. She has participated in volunteer work for women's shelters and other charities. Powell was not recalled as "being a staunch conservative or even very political" by people who interacted with her in those organizations. Powell served as executive producer on the 2013 drama Decoding Annie Parker, providing guidance to help bring the film to a commercial release. The film tells the story of Annie Parker and the discovery of the BRCA1 breast cancer gene. Powell oversaw fundraising screenings for the film that raised approximately $1 million for breast cancer charities.

Too bad she hitched her wagon to a traitorous betrayer.

Agreed.

I find such cases interesting. It's one thing to be interested in conspiracy theories, but people who dive in head first strike me as being "off".

Sydney is a year older than me. At some point her anchor ropes broke loose. She was a bright and promising lawyer in her youth. She's not regular Trump dummy. She doesn't strike me as being primarily interested in money given her work with charities. If she's smart and charitable, that narrows the problem down to a mental issue. When even Trump calls someone "crazy", then it's a pretty good bet they are. LOL

In a deposition by former Trump staffer Hope Hicks during the investigation by the Jan. 6th select committee, Hicks said the president told her and others that Powell’s theories “sounded crazy.”

Powell was among a group of attorneys who filed a wave of lawsuits in several states, pushing a false claim that an international cabal tried to steal the election away from Trump in Michigan and several other states. Powell and others received federal sanctions from a Michigan judge. She has been involved in ongoing litigation over those sanctions and an attempt by the state to recover attorneys fees.

The indictment stated that even though Trump has said the ideas “sounded crazy” he "embraced and publicly amplified" the disinformation. He "did this despite the fact that when he had discussed Co-Conspirator 3's far-fetched public claims regarding the voting machine company in private with advisors, the Defendant had conceded that they were unsupported and that Co-Conspirator 3 sounded ‘crazy.’”

And that speaks to both his knowledge that he truly lost, and that he had the intent to continue to push the lies about a stolen election, as well as means to overturn it. Oopsies!

Agreed. The prosecution has to show intent. So far all Trump has done is deny, deny, deny and blame his lawyers. :rofl2:

"My lawyer told me it was legal" is not a valid defense. Nor is using falsehood to gain donations and justify illegal actions "free speech."

Just more proof that Trump will say anything to escape accountability and all Trumpers will let him.

FWIW, I miss the days when Republicans stood for personal accountability. Now they are all cheaters, liars and ani-constitutional scumbags.

I wondering if they are cooperating or if Smith just left them out to get this going and he will get them in a later indictment.

I was wondering the same thing. And maybe they weren't charged yet to act as bait. Anyone think that #TRE45ON won't try to influence them behind the scenes? They can then nail him for witness tampering as well.

the leading belief from legal experts is that this puts them on crystal clear notice.

'We will deal with Trump first and then come for you next. Pick your lane now. Do you want to be on the side of the US (US versus X) in the next indictment and get the best deal you can by cooperating or do you want to be on the defendant side?

You can bet each and every one of them is being called to a 'come to Jesus' talk by their defense lawyers saying 'you understand there may be space for only one or two deals and the rest WILL be prosecuted... now is the time to decide'.

Being All-In on Trump winning the election and pardoning them has to be an increasingly more tough bet to make.

No offense, but when was that?
.Ford pardoned Nixon and saved him from criminal indictment.

Reagan's minions took a bullet to protect the Gipper in the Iran-Contra criminal enterprise, and then they were gracefully pardoned when Poppy Bush took office.

I never heard Dumbya, Cheney, Rumsfeld express any remorse or contrition for the Iraq war disaster

At least they mouthed the words in those days. Now they don't even do that. They openly seek to let a traitor and liar take over the US government.

Ford pardoned Nixon in order to get past the issue. Was it a mistake? Probably since "turn about is fair play" and the Republicans joined the Democrats in letting Clinton go free on his impeachment.

National security makes strange bedfellows. I understand what Reagan was doing with Iran-Contra just like I understand what Obama was doing in running guns from Libya to Syria through Benghazi.

Me neither. It was a misguided venture to plant the US flag in the middle of Middle East oil country both for political reasons with a large dose of greed.

My thoughts on who might flip.

I start with the premise that Jack Smith will not be giving a total pass to any of these unnamed 6 co-conspirators and he will require some jail time in a plea. Lower level people might get a full walk but none of these will.

That suggests to me that none of the oldest ones flip as any jail time will be basically a life sentence for them, so they might as well stick with Trump and hope for a pardon, knowing they will not get one if they flip and Trump wins.

So:

- Rudy Giuliani - age 79 will not flip.
- Sidney Powell - age 68 probably won't flip. And then even in a Trump win he might not pardon her. lol.
- John Eastman - age 63 is on the 'fuck it.. lets gamble' border of flip or not if the sentence offered is small
- Kenneth Chesebro - age 62 is also on that 'border'
- Jeffrey Clark - age 56 is best chance to flip.

I do think age really matters whether you gamble All In on Trump becoming POTUS or not and you getting a walk. Rudy would see a deal of even two years as offering him little to nothing, as he would see those two years as the best he has left, and know old people come out jail far more aged.
