"It has long been known that the elder Mr. Biden at times interacted with his son’s business partners," the Times wrote in a story published Monday.

The Times’ reporting completely contradicts Biden’s claim in 2019 that he never once discussed business with his son or brother and comes amidst a highly publicized investigation into Hunter's business dealings.

So, in effect what they are saying is that they, the NYT et al., just went along with Joke's lies about never knowing or doing anything with Bagman's "business" dealings with the equivalent of a wink and a nod. Short version, Biden was lying, the NYT knew it, and lied too because they were in on the cover up...

Okay... So, what did Joke talk about with these jokers? The weather? Sports? What? Since we now know in some cases he had lunch or dinner with them, and in others was on the phone for as much as 20 or 30 minutes, what did he discuss?

Seems to me, the obvious answer is business. That's why Bagman called daddy. He didn't call him to have some oligarch in Ukraine, corrupt business guy in Romania, government connected business spy in China, have a nice little chat about gardening or the latest Paris fashions. It makes perfect and complete sense they talked money and business.

A false equivalence. He knows who his grandchildren are. He supposedly doesn't know who Bagman's business associates are. Why spend protracted time on the phone or go to lunch with them when they're nobodies to you? Would you spend 15 or more minutes on the phone, particularly when working, with some random person because you kid called and asked you to speak to them about nothing in particular?

But in a way you prove my point. When Joke calls his grandkids, he talks to them about grandkid / family stuff. When he gets a call from Bagman to talk to one of Bagman's business associates, he talks to them about business stuff. That makes sense.
