UFO hearing: Whistleblower testifies government 'absolutely' has possession of

Good point.
The human eye is also poorly evolved to judge distance and perspective of atmospheric objects in the night sky. What might look like a massive alien mothership hovering a mile up in the sky, might be a tiny drone hovering a hundred feet over your head. The eye is easy to trick.

I'm sure you're right that clandestine technology being developed by the DoD has contributed to UFO sightings.

You know what's weird? In the days of Thomas Jefferson, Mark Twain, and Abraham Lincoln, there are almost no written accounts of close encounters with alien spaceships. I don't know exactly what that means, but it means something.

Agreed, especially among low IQ or mentally unbalanced people. Both have a bad trait of seeing what they want to see.

I have no doubt about secret projects. Even known tech such as the Spooky gunships over Eglin AFB contribute to UFO sightings.

In those days it was more about ghosts AKA Swamp gas. LOL

Which is why it would be nice to know more

If the stuff they have would squelch this speculation

They would release it

Not releasing it feeds these ideas

Feeding nations hostile to the United States with information on our capabilities is a worse solution.

These responses will show you why people who see UFOs rarely speak about them. Those who were not there are experts. They will tell you what you saw. Oh yeah, that saucer I saw was swamp gas. In the 60s there was a rash of sighting in Dexter Mich. There were lots of people saying they saw objects and lights. The govt said it was swamp gas. Really did the swamp suddenly appear and start lighting up? Why were there no reports in the past? Why did they stop? The swamp is still there. I have a completely open mind. That explanation does not fly.

Normal well adjusted people can see inexplicable things in the atmosphere. If they are claimed to be alien spaceships, I just think extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.

One problem is so many of the Loch Ness, Big Foot, and UFO investigators have faked their photos, it makes researchers hesitant to treat it as a legitimate scholarly topic to study.

Back in Thomas Jefferson's day, the equivalent of the UFO spaceships was the Kraken. That must have turned out to be the elusive giant squid, which was not scientifically verified until the 20th century.

In a small boat in the middle of the ocean, I can see how meeting any large creatures like giant squids could be distressing. Losing the ship mostly meant death in up to a few days. Better to be killed instantly fighting the giant squid. LOL

https://oceana.org/marine-life/colossal-squid/
Reaching combined body and tentacle lengths up to 46 feet (14 m) and weights of at least 1100 pounds (500 kg), the colossal squid is a very large deep-sea predator. Like in many large species, all the largest individuals are female. They eat small and large fishes (including the Patagonian toothfish) and other squids. Their tentacles are covered with suckers that are equipped with strong, sharp hooks, used in both capturing prey and fighting off predation. Writers have often imagined that this species engages in fierce battles with sperm whales, leaving both species injured. Most southern Sperm Whales are covered with scars from colossal squid hooks. Other diving mammals (including the southern elephant seal) and large Southern Ocean predators feed on juvenile colossal squid, but the sperm whale is the only species known to take adults. Specific mating behaviors are unknown in this species, but it reproduces via internal fertilization.

Colossal squid are only rarely captured in deep-sea fisheries targeting other species. In almost every case, they have been captured trying to feed on hooked fishes rather than in nets. This species is not targeted commercially and is likely naturally rare. In a recent analysis, scientists reported that the colossal squid is a species of least concern. As it is an important prey species for charismatic, protected species like sperm whales and southern elephant seals, it is vital that scientists determine its population trends and continue to study its biology and ecology.

Ufo sightings, Alien abductions, ect ect ect = 90% viewer error, secret experimental craft, disturbed people, people just plain lying. But the other 10% ? Something much MUCH worse than any little green men from another planet.

Oh yeah. I recall reading about that when I was a kid. Like decades ago.

I had to look him up. Looks like he'd make a great JPP member/Trumper.

Around the world but most vividly in the indigenous culture of the American Southwest, the trickster wreaks havoc for good or ill or just for the hell of it, right here in our everyday world. The trickster isn’t condemned to rule an underworld, because the trickster is an equal among gods. A lot of credible people have looked at Lazar’s story and rationally concluded that he made it up, as he claimed to have fanciful academic credentials — simultaneous masters degrees from MIT and Caltech, of which no trace can be found. He was convicted of felony pandering in Nevada, the year following his wild claims about working on alien saucers. And since childhood he has courted local publicity, first for his rocket-powered bicycle. Yet for 30 years, he has mostly stuck to the details of his flying saucer story....

...That tale was mostly forgotten outside of the small and graying contingent of late 20th-century UFO researchers — and they had mostly dismissed it. Jeremy Corbell, an independent filmmaker who lives part-time near Pioneertown in the California desert, is fascinated by Lazar. Corbell has made a trio of feature-length documentaries about the UFO world, but the Lazar movie blasted right out of the flying-saucer cult and became a full-on pop culture phenomenon. "Bob Lazar: Area 51 and Flying Saucers" spent much of the summer as the No. 1 documentary on Netflix, right there on the home screen for millions of subscribers worldwide. It was already doing well when the monstrously popular podcaster Joe Rogan brought Corbell and Lazar to his show.

Ahhhhh,...does Dutch ring a bell? Of course he wasnt a pilot though. He was down in the Galley pealing potato's most of the time. You have to understand,....when your talking about dutch your talking about a guy who couldnt get a blowjob on a Saturday night in Subic bay with with a wad of money in his pocket and a blue ribbon tied around that little pecker of his! This mother forker is the reason they came up with the word INCEL in the first place!

I love how you take a deep dive into thinking about my pecker, Fatboy. Your avatar proves you have a purty mouth. Did you put it to good use during your little four-year hitch? Or was it a lot less?

I can't imagine any plausible reason for NASA to keep quiet if they stumbled across alien technology after four decades of space exploration.

NASA might not have a say in it.

What the military wants might take precedence.

Or maybe NASA doesn't even know.

It's impossible to keep something like that secret. Even if there were only 100 people per year "in the know", they retire, go crazy, get sick and have regrets, etc. Over the years there'd be thousands. The fucking Russians had our nation's biggest secret within two years of Hiroshima. Politicians get lazy and hostile agents are constantly seeking to collect secrets from them. Keeping an active secret for 60 years defies human abilities.

I find it hard to believe the world's foremost space agencies wouldn't know about alien spaceships flying around.

It really gets down to the point UFO-ologists are asking me to accept a perfect storm scenario of conditions to make intergalactic spaceships an actual real possibility.

You're missing the point.

UFO related information hasn't been "secret" for ages.

People have been publicly divulging it for decades, including ex-gub'mint employees who'd have been in positions where they may have had access to it.

The fact that most people don't believe them and automatically assume they're either kooks or publicity seekers, renders any secrets they reveal, moot.

It's like built in credibility for the gub'mint's denials.

As long as they continue to officially deny everything, and those divulging it aren't taken seriously by most people, the public calm will be preserved.

So the point is that the gub'mint cannot officially acknowledge the existence of these things, because there could possibly be mass chaos.
