A wormhole is a tunnel through space-time, so it would likely not be observable with current tools, like a black hole which is observable only because of the way it sucks matter and light into it's enormous gravitational pull.
You have zero idea if wormholes exist or if aliens from distant galaxies or even other universes have evolved to the point that they know how to access and use them to travel incredible distances in short time periods.
There could be wormholes (or space-time portals) accessible right here on Earth, small enough for individual humans to travel the universe but we don't yet have the technology to access them.
Everyone would likely be rushing to be the first to announce it.

I can't imagine any plausible reason for NASA to keep quiet if they stumbled across alien technology after four decades of space exploration.

I think the logical and conservative scientific position is that barring any direct evidence, there are more plausible explanations for unexplained atmospheric phenomena than intergalactic spaceships

I didn't buy it then, and I'm not buying that the governments of the developed countries had to conceal the detection of alien life for decades so we wouldn't be frightened.

What more correct information? Classified military projects? Remember when LBJ revealed the top secret SR-71 project to bolster his election chances? For the same reasons Cypress defined, I strongly doubt there is evidence of space aliens being held by any government on this planet.
The limiting factor in all modern aircraft is the human pilot. Remove the human element, and our current level of technology can provide some truly amazing feats. A drone light show as shown in the youtube video below is just a glimmer of what drones can do.

Back in the 1960s when the A-12 was being tested, there were a lot of UFO reports at night when it was being flight tested at the Skunk Works. I have no doubt that some UFO sightings are classified military aircraft flights, probably drones these days. A drone can take a lock more G's than a human pilot so their maneuvering can be impressive.

The human eye is also poorly evolved to judge distance and perspective of atmospheric objects in the night sky. What might look like a massive alien mothership hovering a mile up in the sky, might be a tiny drone hovering a hundred feet over your head. The eye is easy to trick.
I'm sure you're right that clandestine technology being developed by the DoD has contributed to UFO sightings.
You know what's weird? In the days of Thomas Jefferson, Mark Twain, and Abraham Lincoln, there are almost no written accounts of close encounters with alien spaceships. I don't know exactly what that means, but it means something.
Apologize for going off the theme of the thread, but that is what is wrong about all these televised Congressional hearings, you find some individual with even the remotest connect to whatever it is you are investigating and without backup proof or any documentation they lay claims that immediately many define as facts
