New state personal income data from the Bureau of Economic Analysis highlights how aggregate worker and proprietor earnings in red states grew significantly more in the last year than in the blues. The disparity owes to GOP-led states adding more jobs, including in higher-paying industries like tech and finance, along with faster-growing wages.

Earnings nationwide rose 5.4% on average between the first quarters of 2022 and 2023, but much less in New York (2.6%), Indiana (2.6%), California (2.9%), Connecticut (3.4%), Rhode Island (3.6%), Maryland (4%), New Jersey (4.3%), Oregon (4.5%) and Illinois (4.6%). Apart from Indiana, these states are run by Democrats—and most have been for years. They boast high taxes and a high cost of living, which along with Covid lockdowns spurred increased out-migration during the pandemic.

Meanwhile, earnings in the same period surged in North Dakota (9.7%), New Mexico (9.6%), Nevada (9.1%), Florida (9.1%), Nebraska (8.6%), Hawaii (8%), South Carolina (8%), Alaska (7.9%) and Texas (7.7%)

How to explain this? California suffered from tech layoffs. Hawaii, Florida and Nevada benefited from a tourism resurgence after Covid’s Omicron wave ebbed. Higher oil and gas prices and production boosted earnings in New Mexico, North Dakota and Alaska, though less so in Texas, which has a more diverse economy.......

California and New York are dragging the country down and Texas and Florida are lifting it up. This shows that progressive Democrat ideas are hurting the country. Gavin Newsome should run his state better before he even thinks about trying to run the country.
 
Not only that but blue states like California and New York are dropping in population while Texas and Florida are going up.

It's obvious that the nation is rejecting leftist policies.

Here is an example of a Biased Republican refers to a OPED, that unless you, as a forum member are also a WSJ subscriber, you cannot even read the OPed he referred to.

So, knowing this, he makes claims that red states are the only states where incomes are increasing- WHEN WE HAVE NO IDEA WHAT THE WSJ has to say about all this.

I suppose he just wants us to believe what he says is in the OP ED as if his personal comments and certain segments that he listed that could have been taken out of context just to play into his narrative were the only ones he provided.

Then there's cost of living. States like California and New York are very expensive to live in so even if you make more in wages, you may have a poorer standard of living due to the cost of living.

What does it cost to live in liberal Democrat states like California. My wife likes to watch TV shows like Flip or Flop where they buy homes and fix them up and resale them. We chuckle at the high prices people pay for dumps in California.

For some reason a lot of women like those shows. Sometimes my wife and MIL watch them and I always noticed the same thing and think, “They want that much money for THAT house. That’s crazy!”

What a rube, people move out and move into NYC all the time, it is the cultural and financial capital, the best medical care and universities

Unlike jesusland NYC isn't monochrome land , has people from all over the world

New York City is a symbol of diversity and multiculturalism known to all. Naturally with New York's international status comes a great lingual diversity with over 600 different languages spoken in the metropolitan area.

When people do move to other parts of the country they bring their politics with them :)

I always wanted to live in a 3 million dollar home. I do but it just isn't in California. :laugh:
