Biden fights to lower health care costs

and in a year we'll be hearing about how Biden didn't promise lower premiums, just that they wouldn't go up as fast as they had been.

If Biden had his way there would not BE any fucking premiums for health insurance. You have only the republicans to thank for your "premiums".

No, we need free market health care. More government isn't the answer to high prices. A free market is the answer to them.

EXACTLY RIGHT!!!

Health care in the United States was the best in the world when government wasn't interfering with it like it does today. In many respects, it still is. Life saving procedures and products, including the development of far less invasive surgical techniques, artificial replacements of damaged body parts (even the heart!) were developed in the United States for a reason!

I could add to the list these ingrates ignore:

* numerous additional treatments for cancers and even cures for some of them.
* drugs and vaccines to handle most any ailment, including devastating diseases like polio, measles, mumps, scarlet fever, plague (including black plague), tetanus, typhus, leprosy, pneumonia, ... you know...the real killers and disfiguring diseases that hit huge percentages of the population (unlike covid, which doesn't even kill!).
* the best surgeons in the world.
* the invention and improvement of many imaging techniques including ultrasound, x rays, MRI, CAT, etc.; and also vastly improved methods of handling and storing those images (PACs systems).

Maybe that's because people are too stupid to figure stuff out for themselves and that some things are best under govt control. Without social security there would be millions entering retirement with fucking nothing and we aren't going to having starving in the streets so the taxpayer would be footing their bills. Welfare would explode so you can thank your govt controled program from preventing it.

Where you idiots come up with "communism" is anyones guess.

Seriously, if you don't think a universal healthcare plan that provides for and treats heathcare as a right isn't going to cost even less, then you are an idiot.

Calling entire populations 'stupid' isn't going to get you anywhere.

Government paying for healthcare IS communism. That stuff ain't free, and government doesn't know anything about healthcare.

Your free market healthcare has this country ranked about 40th in the world for healthcare and with a life expectancy dropping. All those countries who treat healthcare as a right and not a privelidge are the ones ranked well ahead of us with climbing life expectancies to prove it. Free market healthcare just means a lot of people simply won't get any.

TANSTAAFL. Universal health care isn't (health care). It ain't free, dude. It must means incredibly high taxes to pay for it.

Health care in the States is suffering BECAUSE of government interference. Despite this, health care in the States is pretty damn good, compared to other nations.

You don't get to speak for everybody. You only get to speak for you. Your own hoplophobia and desire to live under tyranny is YOUR problem.

The USA is ranked about 40th in healthcare but we know you are stupid enough to believe Trump won the election so you can believe whatever the fuck you want to concerning healthcare too. Nobody gives a shit what you believe.

All those wonderful accomplishments might be pretty good if everyone could get them, but they can't.
That's funny that "covid doesn't kill" More americans died from covid than all the American lives lost in the civil war, WWII, Korean war, VietNam war and afghanistan PUT TOGETHER and did it in under 3 years versus over 20 and it "didn't kill"?

This is nothing but over regulation where Biden thinks people are too stupid to figure out stuff for themselves so he wants to put it under government control.

This is incorrect. Biden thinks people are stupider than he is. He measures himself as a really smart guy, but is actually a moron. So, he thinks others have to be far more stupid than he is and he can't figure out shit for himself...

you're suggesting that biden would become a dictator and make all medical employees, services, and properties property of the USA to provide free services???

You can't fix stupid. On the other hand, if I had put what social security took out of my pay into a 401K or IRA, or other retirement investment account, I'd have roughly double the monthly payout I get from social security. In fact, I take most of it and do put it right back into an investment account earning better than SS does...

Sure... The VA system is hit and miss, and most veterans see it as bad enough that it's a last, not first, resort. I've seen the mess military active duty health care is. In England the NHS is at best hit and miss in quality and grossly expensive. If the government ran healthcare in the US they would decrease the quality of service and outcomes, lengthen wait times, and it would cost more.
Canadians come to Arizona all the time to cross into Mexico to get prescriptions and medical work done because it's cheaper and more reliable than Canadian government run healthcare.

As the nations hospitals slide towards catastrophe due to massive national health policy mismanagement....The COVID debacle is just one part of it.

If the Failed Elite Class had any interest in fixing our deeply broken healthcare industry they would have made an effort during the Obama years.

It ain't happening folks.

The problems began to be visible in the mid 70's....for a few decades there was a lot of chatter about it but nothing effective was ever done.

"But nothing was ever done" is now the motto of America.

WASHINGTON, July 7 (Reuters) - President Joe Biden on Friday announced new steps to crack down on short-term health insurance plans and surprise medical bills, stepping up his war against so-called junk fees to lower healthcare costs.

This will include a proposed rule that closes loopholes companies use to offer misleading short-term insurance products, discriminate based on pre-existing conditions, offer little to no coverage and saddle consumers with thousands of dollars worth of medical expenses, White House Domestic Policy Adviser Neera Tanden told reporters.

The RePIGnants will fight him every step of the way.

They are the reason why health care costs are so high and going higher.

Even if this wasn't bullshit it does not change the fact that without SS we would have millions entering retirement with nothing but their shirts on their backs and the taxpayers would foot the welfare to support them.

You are full of shit. You don't get much shittier healthcare than you do in the USA. We rank way behind Canada and your lies don't change that fact.

They did. Nothing has given more Americans healthcare than the affordable care act. Just because a party has a majority doesn't mean they can fix or change everything when nearly half is against them.
