DeSantis showboating could cost Florida billions

did you know that California counts illegals as part of their population to obtain additional congressional representation in the House.......

Of course the states are not in control of this! The districts are laid out according to populations. And the populations are determined by the Census Report.

Is this the right way to handle this? Well, essentially yes, if the Census report were actually accurate. Most illegals do not even fill out the Census Reports. And many other people do not, as well, from every other race of life. SO we have no idea how many people are flushing toilets here in America daily! And we have no idea how many legals and illegals are here.

But anyway, yes, you are right about the musical chairs going on in the House over seats coming and going.

This needs to be addressed in a new non-partisan Immigration bill that neither the Democrats or Republicans seem to have the brass balls enough to even bring it to the floor. 2030 will come around, and still we will not have a new immigration bill because of the stalemate over the DACA factor.

But, anyway, this is a good site to determine how the last census worked out for all states that shows how both legal and illegal immigration changed things in 2020.

Ego? Too big for his britches?
That's my thought. Again...compensating for something. I don't believe he even has a position on any issue. He's just testing the wind direction and offering one liners to adoring fans. During Covid, govt. restrictions were bad. Now he's over regulating everything he can. Except for guns.

He's too stupid to realize that the nation is not moving in his direction.

Another atypical catalyst to this escalation is the abortion issue, and impending birth control ban (if the SC gets a say)

I believe Republican women will come out against anti choice candidates, even if they have to hold their collective noses in the process. The mid terms should have been a warning to Republicans, but we see them doubling/tripling down now.

In large part because they feel secure that they will be able to suppress votes.

Abortion is a major issue, especially for women. I agree there will be Republican women conversions over the issue.

The greater issue is rights; How are Republicans stripping women of the unalienable right to their own body to be seen different from Democrats seeking to strip Americans of other unalienable rights? Both parties are better at serving themselves than they are the nation....which is their oath to serve.

Forcing Americans to choose between two shitty parties is not working. There's reason why 70% of American voters, of the 60% who bother to vote, don't want to be Democrats. It's because they are part of the problem, not part of the solution. LOL

Wedge issue, with a load of disinformation for good measure.

Fear mongering. They gave up on the 'they're taking our jobs' bullshit, because many Americans really prefer not to work.

Correction: Many Americans prefer not to work for less than minimum wage under harsh conditions, because the current labor shortage means we can get better jobs even with low or no skills. We have that luxury, thanks to all the millions of undocumented workers who flood in to do those jobs, so that we can enjoy the standard of living that we have.

I think that many of our poorly-educated voters don't understand why we enjoy the standard of living that we do.

Whenever there is that much power and money on the line, politicians do something for a reason. Howard Dean was advised to be himself, more natural. Yeeeee-Hahhhh!

Still, just the fact so many Republicans are competing for the top slot means they know it won't be Trump. If DeSantis is tubing himself, who is #3? Not currently but ending up #1 in the end? Scott? Haley?

Terry Gardner hates unions and believes management will look out for their employee's best interests.

not what I said, pumpkin head.......I said it did not matter because you DID gain them only in NY and CA.....

Sure but why would we care what you said when you are wrong.

Red (and Swing) states may be turning more blue since pandemic start – here’s why

... Some of America’s red and swing states (purple) may have gotten less Republican during the pandemic. That’s according to 2020-21 U.S. Census data cited by real estate outlet Redfin in a recent report.

The main reason is increasing diversity in areas that are typically whiter, Redfin reports. The data shows that more people moved into red and purple (“swing”) counties in key states last year than in any year in a decade. Redfin explains “key” states are “states in which either candidate has a shot at winning in the upcoming Senate elections.”...

You and Doc Dutch can deny fact and reality all you want but they do not care about your feelings.

The TREND we are seeing in popular vote growth for Dems is also in significant part, due to the urban areas in REd and Swing state growth. That may not impact the EC today, but if the trend continues as it is, it will certainly impact the EC vote in the future.

trump was trying to build a wall..

trump had remain in mexico.

you globalist dems and neocon fake republicans are opposed to both.

and trump did tariffs on china, epically.

Oh hahahahaha.

You were not only one who believed the 'Trump build the Wall' grift, but you still believe it even as almost all Republicans mock his failure there.

Please come in to this other thread and lets talk about you buying some Trump bucks from me. I have a very special price for you.

The myth is the Democrats claiming no one will do those jobs

We're about to find out in the next harvest. When the prices rise the Trumpers will blame Biden. LOL

That said, I don't support illegal anything. I do support immigration reform, including work visa improvements just as GW Bush suggested. The nation is going to suffer through higher prices for produce first before such reform will be enacted.

The myth is the Democrats claiming no one will do those jobs

It's not a myth, Buckwheat. In 2011 Alabama passed a law similar to the FL one. As a result, farm workers left the state in droves, and crops rotted in the fields for lack of labor to harvest them. Alabama is one of the few states that allows the use of low paid or unpaid prison labor. Their solution to the missing farm workers was to draft inmates from state prisons to do the work. The inmates went on strike. Even American INMATES won't work for what the migrant workers will.

LET THE CROPS ROT IN THE FIELD

Riiiiggghhhttt. And they would never, ever sell us defective products, tainted medicines, or cars with exploding gas tanks. :awesome:

What people like him are intentionally overlooking is the First Amendment right to Freedom of Association. Specifically, freedom to peaceably assemble. It proves they are anti-Constitutional. Tie in all their other actions such as a State religion and stripping Americans of freedom of speech, it all adds up to his and Earl's being traitors to their oaths.

Amendment I

Exactly.

Republi'cans' count on the base not being able to put 2+2 together.

Could you continual push up the pay to labor to find a spot where Americans will hit the fields, in the scorching heat of summer and return to lives of picking crops? Sure I am sure there is a wage, if high enough, you good Americans to take that up.

That is why you see Republican politicians often say they are just trying to create better paying jobs for Americans by shutting down this cheap labor.

So now that happens. Farms cannot find cheap migrant labor and must pay significantly to entice Americans into the fields.

Will then American citizens pay significantly more in the grocery stores for fruits and veggies, that say 'picked by American workers', when right beside at a fraction of the cost is fruit and veggies grown in Mexico and south america, with their farming booming now, sending ever more produce as the American product prices are so high?

So what is the end result. Significant inflation in America due to the cost of this labor skyrocketing and the price of these staple goods skyrocketing. And then the loss of these farms (and many other industries) where American labor cannot compete.

The republiclowns will then blame Dems for that too as they cannot foresee what 2+2 equals, and thus they do not connect the 'cause' and 'result' that happen over time.
