It looks like their reason is to push their social and political agenda, and spread the idea that being one of the alphabet letters is not only normal, but better than normal.
The organization behind them is literally based on a theory that promotes the replacement of the traditional family with a gay/lesbian/trans version of the family.
I don't care what they do with each other but drawing kids into it crosses the line.
An alternative life style means an additional life style not a replacement. That said, I don't see the point of this either if the purpose of a story hour is, as it should be, simply to tell children stories.
