Nothing was "prevented." It was an attempt to stall the counting until all efforts to ensure it was a fair election were exhausted. Dishonest lying Democrat hacks and their media enablers refused the efforts and used that dumb meme knowing that brain dead fools like you would parrot it endlessly.

It was nothing compared to the efforts by Democrats to destroy Trumps presidency with lies about Russia Hoax, attempts to derail the electoral count and claims that Trump was "illegitimate."

They voted in November 1859 but Lincoln won the election. The move to secede started about a month later, growing into a full rebellion by Lincoln's inauguration in January 1860.
