None of that is what I said there. I said I think that the Democrats are getting what they want and why they thought it. The rest of this is what you made up in your own noggin. Though I will tell you that Trump has done nothing but lost popularity among folks who are not republicans or democrats. So those "independent" voters that Trump used to get past HillBillary are no longer there for him. In recent polling they are 67% of the belief that Trump should have been indicted. While Trump is gaining backing with the republicans, he is not gaining anything with the independent folks. This does not bode well for the republicans chances in the next election if they nominate Trump.

Justice dept in New Youk saw Trump's crimes. They set up a grand jury that agreed that Trump was criming away. We are not trying to "get " Trump. Just to achieve justice. The people need to know that the wealthy and politicians too will face the law if they commit crimes. This will be good for America after it ends.

As spineless and greedy as most Washington politicians may be, most are smart enough to not step on their own dicks. I think the majority of the Republican leadership know what is coming down the pike for Trump and want to avoid being splattered without offending his supporters.

At the moment, DeSantis seems the most likely candidate, but his efforts to please RW Floridians, about a third of the state's voters, may tube him in a national election.

Running with Tom Scott as his VP may save both his pudding fingers and bacon. :)

Right now the odds makers on this sort of thing say Biden would pull a narrow but nearly certain victory over Trump but would get absolutely crushed and defeated against virtually any other Republican with a reasonable chance of nomination.
