It's far too high, yes. But on the bright side, that just represents his base, which has dwindled considerably from the mid-30s. He's also lost two thirds of the independents.

I'm not sure it would have even passed muster in the late 20th century. Gary Hart was considered a front runner for the 1988 Democratic presidential nomination, but he had to drop out because of photos of him hanging out with a woman who wasn't his wife.

No rank and file Democrat ever cast a vote for Bill Clinton with knowledge of Monica Lewinsky, which wasn't known to the public until 1998.

Eagleton had to drop off the vice presidential ticket simply because the press found out he had once been hospitalized for depression.

The bar tends to be set pretty high for presidential nominees.

Bill Clinton's adulterous womanizing followed him during the 1992 election cycle. Hillary famously "stood by her man" despite all the evidnece and the Democratic Party, as a whole, tossed all the women filing complaints under the bus.

It was then that I lost all respect for NOW since they put politics above defending the rights of women.

The only thing I remember from 1992, is that Clinton admitted to an affair with Gennifer Flowers in the 1970s, and he and Hillary sat down for that interview claiming they had worked to repair their marriage in the years since.

I think in the 21st century Democratic party, it would be practically impossible for a serial adulterer and overall cad to acquire the Democratic nomination

- Last minute transfer order from secure prison and cell that is suicide proof to a prison and cell that is not
- last minute transfer OUT of the required cell mate any suicide risk person is REQUIRED to have with them, if not in a suicide prevention cell
- Oops, his cell is in an area where they are behind on maintenance, and the Camera's just happen to not work
- Oops the Guards on duty just happen to be negligent and not doing their REQUIRED rounds that night.


None of the above is even in dispute. Trumps DOJ just wants you to believe its a series of unfortunate coincidences.

And thus the biggest Pedo, a clearly broken and suicidal man with nothing to lose in telling all to DOJ got silenced because somehow the DOJ was not treating him like a top level potential witness whom they were going to protect.
