But in GENERAL, it's not the best thing when a candidate relies on poorly educated people to maintain his or her popularity. And that is Trump's huge advantage as a candidate - those who are less educated prefer him over primary opponents, or any Democrat.

And it explains a lot about his popularity. Grifters rely on people not wising up to what they're doing.

Precisely. I like the term "grievance politics." It perfectly describes what the typical (R) candidate runs on, and who it appeals to. IMO it is far more dangerous than the so-called "identity politics" that they claim (D)s run on.

Lately, the news seems filled with grim mug shots of angry white guys. A white man allegedly kills two black people at a supermarket after failing minutes earlier to enter a black church. Another opens fire at a yoga studio, killing two people and injuring five more before turning the gun on himself. And a third is accused of massacring 11 worshipers at a synagogue, afterward yelling, “I just want to kill Jews.”

I saw a recent study saying Repubs tend to see the world in hierarchies. They seem to know their place and think their low position is where they should be. Those who want to move up are uppity. The wealthy are where they belong.

It's telling that Republicans use this despair and anger not to bring people together and find solutions, but to further divide us and prevent solutions because anger = power to them.

Notice how they accuse (D)s of being "divisive" because of their dreaded WOKE boogeyman.

Change is bad and anyone who wants to bring change is also bad. My husband's family is a great example. There are six siblings. Three have at least BS degrees (he has a masters). Two of the others have associates' degrees, and one just his h.s. diploma. The latter three still live in rural areas, two within 100 miles of where they grew up. They are extremely conservative. The other three live or lived in urban areas. Only one is conservative but not extremely so. Mr. Owl and his sister are moderates.

Education really does change one's world view.
