Short Circuit

This happens to any Conservative you ask to define "woke".

The pejorative is intended to be broad enough to encapsulate any culture war issue the right has at any given time.

These people are as shallow as they appear:

How hard is it to define "woke" if you know what it means?

Maybe she should've asked DeSantis' attorney for help because he defined it perfectly in court:

"The belief there are systemic injustices in American society and the need to address them."

Hard to see how anyone would have a problem with that unless they are the entrenched power that is subjecting people to systemic injustices.

But no one on JPP is doing that because no one on JPP has that power.

I simply can't take any liberal seriously about the 'woke' issue, nor expect them to think logically or rationally, after having seen the thousands of video meltdowns the day after trump was elected...........can't do it.

If you want to say the N-word so bad, just fucking say it you pussy.

It would depend on whether you were prepared to give such an answer. IMHO she should have been given that she wrote a book.

"Woke" is larger than a bumper sticker and in some ways not easily described off the cuff. She should have been prepared, she is an author of a book talking about their lost childhood or some such.

Personally I don't think that this would work more than a couple times and only with different folks, after that folks would make sure they have a working short definition and the "gotchas" (either left or right) would stop asking because it would be easily answered.

"Woke", being political, has two sides like a coin, one side seeing something different than the folks on the other side see. I don't necessarily know that the girl being interviewed was even a conservative given that we are only given one limited portion of the interview. It can be difficult to describe, like a flavor, if you are unprepared to give such a description.

If I were her, and equally unprepared, I would have simply asked, "What is your definition, and we'll talk about how mine differs from yours?"

Every single one of those people WERE RIGHT.

They were right to be upset because Trump fucked everything up. EVERYTHING.

He fucked up our country's response to COVID because he called it a hoax.

He fucked up our country's economy thanks to the tax cut.

He fucked up the streak of job creation that started with Obama.

He fucked up Afghanistan by making a deal with the Taliban and then not following through on any of the promises he made.

He fucked up the peaceful transition of power by instigating his more courageous supporters to attack the Capitol while all the rest sat at home and shitposted from the shadows on 1/6 like you did.

He fucked up our alliances, he fucked up the trade deal with Canada, he fucked up the tariffs which caused a $30B bailout of farmer trash (more than 2x the amount spent bailing out the auto companies).

We were fucking right about him, and you dismissed it and now you have the fucking nerve to invoke that shit again after 4 years of disaster that culminated in a pandemic where WE HAD MORE DEATHS THAN ANY OTHER NATION BY FAR.

Fuck you, you goddamned fucking pussy.

No, my advice would be to get some new beliefs since the ones she currently has are shallow, superficial, and bullshit.

You cannot tell what her beliefs are from this video. So, my guess is you are just assuming something about her and profiling based on your limited ability to guess what she believes.

It would depend on whether you were prepared to give such an answer.

She supposedly wrote an entire book about it, but couldn't explain it even when given adequate time to do so.

Why do you think she struggled so hard to answer that question? Because her beliefs are bullshit and she knows it.

It's quite simple. "Woke" simply means being aware of injustice and racism.

The reason for the GOP to add and add more to it remains a mystery. They literally destroy what "woke" means. It no longer means anything.

All "woke" means is the belief that there are systemic injustices in America that need to be addressed.

So do you agree with Mandel in that there are absolutely NO systemic injustices in America that need to be addressed?

Why do you think she struggled so hard to answer that question? Because her beliefs are bullshit and she knows it.

I think she thought pretty much everyone involved knew what "woke" was and was simply unprepared for that question. I will bet she will fix that in future interviews (if she subjects herself to more of them after her experience here). Writing something is much different than being interviewed about something. Some folks have a hard time thinking off the cuff. As I said, I would advise her to prepare for that question in the future so she can avoid this.

Maybe you can mainsplain to her what wokeism is, I'm sure she'd thank you for it.

She should have been prepared, she is an author of a book talking about their lost childhood or some such.

She WAS prepared...that's the point.

She was prepared to talk about her book, only she doesn't seem to know the premise of her own book.

All Joy did was ask her what "woke" means to her, and she couldn't say because it doesn't mean anything to her...she uses it as a broad term to encapsulate any cultural grievance. So she knows the pejorative is hollow and superficial, she just wasn't counting on having to avoid saying that directly.

If -everyone- knew what "woke" means, it wouldn't be hard to define it, would it?
